Father's Day Cards, What a Joy to Make...

Hey there, everyone.  I have been busy the past month and had been working part-time too so, I have to find some time to create which proved to be a difficult challenge.  Okay, okay, I have suffered from lack of sleep or no sleep at all in order to create some of the cards you see in here.  But card making is something I really like to do so, I am so happy when I get to sit at my craft table (even with very little sleep) and once I finished a project and see how pretty it came out to be, it makes me very happy...

Most of the time, in front of my Craft table, I am out of ideas on what to do.  Lay-outs are always the hardest part for me because there's so many things I wanted to include and making them all work.  I also have a small space to work on so, it can be messy getting all of my papers, tools and embellishments all in one space and still have enough space to work on...Oh well, no complaints here.  Just thankful to the Lord for a roof on our heads and His daily provision.  Anyway, here's an Easel card that I worked on, one of the six cards I've been busy with  the past few days.  Also, this card has been entered into this Challenge:

1.  Crafty Creations featuring "Your Favorite Stamp"

JUST FOR YOU DADDY EASEL CARD:
Again, the struggle to make this as manly as possible...LOL  I had to eliminate ribbons (which I love to include) but I couldn't help myself with the glitters...I think it turned out good because it made the word "Daddy" stand out.  I got the sentiment (message) from a book by Linda LaTourelle entitled "The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Word."  By the way, the "Just For You" was cut from my Cricut Stamping cart and the word "Daddy" was cut from Mickey Font cart.  I usually don't use a lot of my Cricut for words but sure love how it turned out here.

JUST FOR YOU DADDY EASEL CARD (SENTIMENT UP-CLOSE):
Aww, I think this is just a perfect message to all of the good fathers out there....

JUST FOR YOU DADDY EASEL CARD (SPECIAL MESSAGE):
What can be more personal than writing your own words for the wonderful man in your life?  I love that with this card, there is a space to do that...Oh, and can you see how I got carried away stitching all over this card?...LOL

JUST FOR YOU DADDY EASEL CARD (FOLDED):
I so adore that little girl image from Whipper Snapper Designs.  I had fun coloring with my Bic and Sharpie markers and Prisma/Gamsol on the face...Did some inking with Tim Holtz Distress Ink using Frayed Burlap.  My favorite ink of all his inks.  I also cut the frame from my Cricut Stamping cartridge.

JUST FOR YOU DADDY EASEL CARD WITH ENVELOPE:
Another customized envelope for this very special A2 card since it became a bit thick.  I am so proud of how this turned out to be and hope you enjoy this project too...Below this post are several other Father's day card I made.  Have fun browsing...

I also want to thank the LORD JESUS for all the strength and guidance in my life...He is the very reason why I even create in the first place...To You be the glory, Almighty Father!

Father's Day Gatefold Card...

I have seen a Gatefold card before and had long been wanting to make one but just did not have the time but there's no stopping me this time...Father's day is fast approaching and paired with one of my favorite images, I came up with this one...This card has been entered into the following Challenges:

1.  Charisma Cardz featuring Going Round in Circles
2.  Sketchy Colors featuring "Earth Colors"

JUST FOR YOU DAD (FISHING) CARD:
Love the way this card turned out to be.  The image is from Whipper Snapper Designs and I colored it with my trusted Bic and Sharpie markers except for the face in which I had to use Gamsol for a more subtle effect.  Used Nestabilities to cut the image into a circle and inked with Tim Holtz distress ink (Frayed Burlap).  The sentiment is from Perfectly clear stamps and added some metal embellishments for a masculine feel...The stitching on the paper sure added a cool dimension to this card as well.

JUST FOR YOU DAD (FISHING) CARD (UP-CLOSE):
I love my Crop-a-dile so much that adding metal embellishments such as this is easy breezy.  I got a lot of this metal embellishments a long time ago, on sale, at Jo-Ann's and it sure came handy on projects like this.

JUST FOR YOU DAD (FISHING) CARD (INSIDE):
I love how the idea on the inside of this card came to me...Stamping those fishes from Inkadinkado complemented to whole idea in this card although I don't really know much about fishing...LOL  My hubby said that those are not the kind of fish normally caught when fishing...Who cares?  A fish is a fish, right?...LOL

JUST FOR YOU DAD (FISHING) CARD WITH ENVELOPE:
This is an A2 card but had to make a customized envelope to accommodate it's thickness...I had fun making this and I hope you love it too...

Cowboy Style Father's Day Easel Card...

Easel cards are so fun to do.  Among various card styles, this is becoming to be my favorite.  I thought of making a Cowboy style card in time for Father's day and this is how it turned out...This card has been entered into the following Challenges:

HOWDY DADDY EASEL CARD:
The A2 card has so much elements and texture that a guy can appreciate...The image is from High Hopes stamps and colored with Gamsol technique.   I also did a lot of Cuttlebug embossing, stitching and inking.  I used my Studio G and Recollection stamps to spell the sentiments by stamping each letter...It took me a while but sure love the result.  I used Tim Holtz disress ink to get that vintage look on this card and it sure came out nice. I though some kind of metal may add masculinity to the card so, what can be better than adding some eyelets?

HOWDY DADDY EASEL CARD (INSIDE):
I love the space that is hidden inside the card to include a personal message.  I feel like this type of card is something anyone would treasure.

HOWDY DADDY EASEL CARD (FOLDED):
Like this, it looks like a simple card but who would have thought that there's a lot more inside this card?   That is why this card is a hit!

HOWDY DADDY EASEL CARD WITH ENVELOPE:
I made an envelope for this card that is 1/4 inch thick to accomodate the thickness of this card...Lots of cool things going on in this project that it deserves everything handmade...Anyway, gotta go and post more Father's Day cards...

Fun with Accordion style Father's Day Card...

I fell in love with the Panda Bear image here from Dustin Pike.  So, I had to make sure I make a Father's day card using this image...This card has also been entered to this Challenge:

MY DAD RULES PANDA BEAR (ACCORDION) CARD:
I am having fun experimenting on different card folds this time...I think that this style add fun to the whole lay-out.  Colored the image with my Bic/Sharpie markers and opaque white marker.  A bit of distressing with ink and distress tool and this card looks superb.

MY DAD RULES PANDA BEAR (ACCORDION) CARD (INSIDE):
More distressing inks in the inside of this card and more stitching too...

MY DAD RULES PANDA BEAR (ACCORDION) CARD WITH ENVELOPE:
What can complete this card but it's very own envelope which I made with 1/4-inch thickness to protect the card...This is it for now but more later on after I get a bit of rest...Hugs and God bless everyone!

Make me Realize Gratitude Card...

It was one of those days that my mind was trying to come up with something creative but had difficulty.  I have colored this lovely image from High Hopes stamps using the Gamsol technique a while back but didn't really know where to use it for.  After several  hours of planning on the lay-out, this card was born.  This card has also been entered into this Challenge:

1.  Saturday Challenge featuring "No Patterned Paper"

MAKE ME REALIZE (GRATITUDE) CARD:
Oh, I just love stitching so, you can see that I did some in here.  I also add some flocking on the flower that the image is holding (yes...tiny!) but sure added some texture to the card.  Used MS Punch to create the border, some eyelets to keep it in place and a wonderful sentiment.

MAKE ME REALIZE (GRATITUDE) CARD (INSIDE):
Just a simple way to decorate the inside of this card...I thought this can also be a nice card for Father's day!

MAKE ME REALIZE (GRATITUDE) CARD WITH ENVELOPE:
There you are, completely done with it's own envelope...Isn't she adorable?

Lotsa Buttons Encouragement Card...

I bought the Martha Stewart Button Punch a while back but did not have the time to use it but once.  I fell in love with the many ways and colors I can decorate my card with this punch so, here is what I came up with...This card has been entered into this Challenges:

LOTSA BUTTONS ENCOURAGEMENT CARD:
I grabbed some scrap papers and started punching the buttons and I was delighted to see how they came out.  I also embossed the card base with the Cuttlebug and took one of my favorite stamps and stamped and embossed the sentiment.  I decided to give it some stitching as well.

LOTSA BUTTONS ENCOURAGEMENT CARD (INSIDE):
As if I didn't have buttons all over this card, I embossed the inside panel with Cuttlebug buttons as well....LOL

LOTSA BUTTONS ENCOURAGEMENT CARD WITH ENVELOPE:
This came out to be a thick card so, I had to make a special envelope for it...Over-all, I am happy with the outcome of this card.

Fun with another Easel Card...

Hi Fellow Crafters!  I hope you are having such a blessed day thanking Jesus for His provision in your life.  I have made a few cards the past few days and tried to find the time to post but can't do it often because I am busy with some work and lots of activities both with family and spiritually.  But I got to make time for my fave hobby to provide some balance in my life.

I got great feedbacks from people who have seen my first 2 Easel Cards (made for guys) and I though I should make one for a girl this time.  I used this image from High Hopes stamps and it was a blast coloring the image using Gamsol technique. This card has been entered to the following challenges:

ALL THINGS GROW WITH LOVE EASEL CARD:
I thought the colors blended beautifully.  I also included a bit of flocking on the pink flower and flocking is not easy as it can be.  I found myself re-applying glue to adhere more flock but sure love the feel of it...I  ran the card stocks through my sewing machine and sure enjoyed the stitching all over.  Used Cuttlebug embossing, flowers, ribbon, stickles and dew drops.  Just the perfect blend, I should say.

ALL THINGS GROW WITH LOVE EASEL CARD (MESSAGE PANEL):
Always love how you can incorporate a message in that not so obvious space of an easel card.  Makes the card super special.

ALL THINGS GROW IN LOVE EASEL CARD (FOLDED):
The magic of an easel card.  Just who thought there's something special inside this card when you handed them this way to your loveone.  Easel cards always brightens my day.

ALL THINGS GROW IN LOVE EASEL CARD (WITH ENVELOPE):
This is just an A2-size card but packed with embellishments so, guess what?...I had to make an envelope for this card and when I was finally done, I was satisfied with the result especially after I stamped the butterfly.  Just great!

So, this is it for now friends and hopefully I can make a few more cards to feature here the next few days...I thank God for talents and blessings He has given me and for His gift of righteousness and  peace which surpasses all understanding .  I'm totally undeserving but He chose to give it to me anyway through faith in Jesus, so, all glory to His Name.

Glitzy Paper Doll Card...

As you may have noticed in my projects,  I love a lot of stamping in my cards so, to incorporate a die cut paper doll (or any other die-cut image) is always a challenge to me just because, I should select the right paper and colors and piece them together.  When I can color an image, I felt I have better control... but then, I have ton of Cricut cartridges and most of them I haven't used yet and my hubby is starting to wonder whether they are just for display...LOL.  So, I used one of my fave Cricut Carts (Everyday Paper Dolls) and walah, this card was born...

GLITZY-CUTIE PIE DOLL CARD:
Before I decided to use the stickles on this doll, everything about the doll seemed pretty dull to me but a little glitter here and there and this card went from simple to amazing.  Love those button embossing border from Cuttlebug too.  I decided to wet embossed my sentiment (from Studio G) and it turned out great. I don't know why I am crazy with stitching the past few months but yes, I wanted to run my cards on the sewing machine most of the time.  I thought I was done but  I am happy I added the dew drops as it sure made the card pop.

GLITZY-CUTIE PIE DOLL CARD (INSIDE PANEL):
I don't even remember which paper stack this designer paper came from but sure love it.  Love the colors of the polka dots...made me happy!

GLITZY-CUTIE PIE DOLL CARD (WITH ENVELOPE):
My oh my, this card is pretty thick and just as I thought I am okay to use the pre-made envelope, it would not really fit so, I handmade an envelope for this card.  It's .25 inch thick (A7) and holds the card perfectly.  So happy with the result!

Created my very first Mother's Day Card...

Yes, Mother's Day is fast approaching and thought I should make one and see how it goes...I saw this very cute image from my fave Dustin Pike collection and gave me some idea.  Wish I still have a Mom to give it to but I know that my Mom is happily dancing in the presence of the Lord.  Anyway, it was so much fun making this card and sure puts a smile on my face.  This card has been entered on the following challenges:

MOTHER'S DAY BEAR CARD:
I finally found a way to use my new border punch from EK success and thought it complimented the card very well.  It's an A7 card and had to incorporate lots of sewing in this design.  There's Cuttle bug embossing and wet embossing on the grass...Wet markers are awesome! The sentiment with a bird on it was made 3-D with pop-dots.  And finished it up with distress ink, dew drops, satin ribbon and charm.

MOTHER'S DAY BEAR CARD (WITH ENVELOPE):
I am delighted that all went well with this card and Cuttlebug embossing is the best!  It added that perfect touch to coordinate my card and envelope.  Great!

Birthday Monster Truck...

My son loves Monster Trucks and when I think of little boys, there's no doubt that this is one card they can appreciate.  I originally made the truck green and gave that one out to a friend's son who celebrated his 10th birthday.  My son kept telling me to make him the same one for his birthday which is still far.  But yes, I am happy that my little boy appreciates what I love to do so, I came up with a turquoise-colored truck this time.  This card has been entered to this challenge:

BIRTHDAY MONSTER TRUCK CARD:
Love this image from my fave Dustin Pike collection.  It is so fun to color with my Sharpie/Bic markers.  I used my Cuttlebug for embossing (Love it!) and tore some of the edges of my turquoise panel to give it that distress look.  Sentiment is from Studio G stamps.

BIRTHDAY MONSTER TRUCK CARD (INSIDE PANEL):
Just want it to be as simple as it can be and with a bit of inking, the inside looked great too.

BIRTHDAY MONSTER TRUCK (WITH ENVELOPE):
It's awesome how everything came together with this card.  It still took me a few hours to finalize the concept and make the card but totally love the outcome.  Hope you enjoy it too.
