Travel the World First Class Card---Join us for another MayzyArt Challenge!

Hi there, Crafty guys and gals!  I can't believe 2 weeks had already passed since our last MayzyArt Challenge.  So, were off for a new challenge which I hope will tap on your creativity.  The theme is "Flight of Fancy" so, if you want to know how to enter this Challenge, hop on over to MayzyArt Blog and she has all the details for you.  Meanwhile, I am featuring this Card I made to highlight that theme.  I got the lay-out inspiration for this project at Magnolia Ink magazine (No. 3, 2010, made by Claudia).  I used the Trapeze Artist (from MayzyArt Stamps) but instead of having her hanging (upside down) on a rope, I eliminated the rope (covered with a gray CS to make it look like poles instead) and made her more into a "gymnast on parallel bar" (clever, huh!).  After all, the Summer Olympics is just around the corner so, what a great way to highlight that by way of this card.  I also selected a travel theme because the Olympic participants get to travel and see many places so, hence all the travel elements (from TPC Studio--namely Travel Journey and Travel World collections) stamped in this project...There are 3 DP's here:  2 of them are from Paper Studio (Tattered and Worn Collection) and the other from K and Company.  I used several CS in the shades of Kraft, brown and orange.  I colored the image with my ProMarker/Prismacolor/Sharpie markers and applied 3 kinds of Distress inks (Pumice Stone, Rusty Hinge and Walnut Stain) on several elements of this project .  I stamped the flower image (from Ditto Stamps) several times and paper pieced it.  I gave it some leaves using an MS Border Punch.  I used my Cricut Elegant Edges Cartridge to cut the scallop-doily and my Nesties to cut/emboss the ribbon buckles.  I incorporated 2 kinds/sizes of ribbon too: brown and orange.  And finally, I got to stitch all over the panels for a nice, polished, yet with a hint of vintage feel on this card.  I think it turned out really great.  What do you think?  This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

1.    Crafty Creations featuring "Embellish It" (pearls, ribbons, flowers, punch/die-cut stuff, brads)

The past few days, we've been hitting record breaking 100++ degrees temperature and I am not liking it much.  Every time I would enter my vehicle, after it was parked for a bit, felt like I'm going to bake inside.  But we thank the Lord Jesus because each time we call unto Him for His cloud of protection, He answers us by sending His clouds (literally) or a nice breeze to cool us off.  This is also true in all the trials we encounter in our lives.  When things seem hopeless, we call unto our Heavenly Father and He comforts us by assuring us that as we trust in Him, nothing is impossible.  It is good to have Someone you can count on in every situation of life.  I don't know how will I ever survive without Him. I love you, Jesus!

Soakin' Up the Sun Surf Girl Card...Join us for Friday Sketch Challenge!

Hello Crafty guys and gals...Wow, I am amazed that I am able to post projects more than ever before this month.  In case, you all don't know yet, I am one of the DT's at MayzyArt Stamps and Mayzy asked me if we want to join the wonderful DT's of Friday Sketch Challenge in highlighting a project since she is one of their sponsors this week.  Since I love creating for Mayzy, I gladly participated using this wonderful MayzyArt image called "Marina."  Aww, isn't she adorable and so fun to color too.  They sent me the Sketch and this is what I came up with.  The image is colored with my Sharpie/ProMarker/Prismacolor markers.  I decided to go for a Beach Theme so, I die-cut the "sun" (both 4" using the proportional size and the real dial size which gave me the big and small sun die-cut I used in the front and inside my card) with my Cricut using Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge. I cut 2 different size circles with my MS Small Circle Punch to layer on top of the sun.  Next, I die-cut some waves using my Life is a Beach cartridge. I used 2 DP's here from my scraps (yes, I don't throw anything away...LOL).  For embellishments, I layered some Prima flowers and used some coordinating, colored brads.  I used the diamond Stickles (glitters) to highlight the water splashing, stamped the sentiment from Hampton Art and the stamped the scribbles from Fiskars onto the  waves.  And lastly, stitching all around.  I am so happy how bright, bold and summery this project turned out to be.  One of my favorite ones for sure.  If you dig this card, please leave a comment or follow my blog for more incredible creation in the future.

Also, if you want to join the Friday Sketch Challenge, MayzyArt is giving away 5 digis to one winner.  Not only that, there's another fabulous sponsor that will be giving away a $20 gift certificate.  If you want more details, be sure to click on the link above and see their DT's and MayzyArt DT's inspiration cards for this Challenge. Favorite Friend Baseball-Birthday Card...

Hello everybody...I am back with another card to show you.  My son's friend had a birthday recently and together with a gift, I decided to make a card for him. All I know is that he's into baseball so, upon seeing this wonderful stick image from Bugaboo Stamps that I got as a weekly freebie long time ago, I decided to use him in this project.  I colored it with my ProMarker/Prismacolor markers.  I stamped the letter "T" on the image's cap after seeing a picture that boy in uniform.  I stayed as true as possible to the kid's uniform.  I use a white A2 base card and used 3 of my favorite Cuttlebug embossing folders to emboss the 3 different panels that I layered on my card.  The sentiment is from Printworks and stamped on a white CS I die-cut with Nesties.  The inside sentiment is taken from the book "Ultimate Guide to a Perfect Card" with words from Thena Smith with a few changes to make it more personal.  I really enjoy the simplicity of this project yet, it does have some attitude in itself.  Let me know what you think. This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

1.    Robyn's Fetish featuring "Anything Goes"
2.    Daisy Doodles featuring "Anything Goes"
3.    Paper Playtime featuring "Anything Goes with a Sentiment"
4.    Use Your Stuff featuring  "Make it by Hand" (I stamped the "T" in the cap to resemble the kid's
baseball uniform)
5.    Delightful featuring "Anything Goes"
6.    Crafts and Me featuring "Anything Goes"
7.    Try it on Tuesdays featuring "Anything Goes"
8.    Sentimental Sundays featuring "Summer Fun"

Too Cool Stylish Girl Card...Time for a New MayzyArt Challenge!

A wonderful day to y'all beautiful Crafters...What's keeping you busy, nowadays?  Well, for me, there no shortage of things to do.  I am determined to finish my King-size crochet blanket and been working on that every chance I get.  But it looks like it will take months before I come near it's end...LOL  On the other hand, I just got done making this DT Card for our third MayzyArt Challenge.  The theme is "Black" which is Mayzy's favorite color and she gave us the freedom to interpret this theme the way we see fit. So, here is my card featuring the lovely "Junko" which you can find at MayzyArt Etsy Shop.  I colored her with my Promarker and Prismacolor markers (Oh, it was so much fun to color her!).  I used Kraft CS as my base card and gathered 3 varieties of mostly black DP's.  I also used a black and white CS to compliment my DP's.  I used my Nesties to die-cut the black, lacy scallop and used my small MS Circle Cutter to create the circle DP on top of it.  I stamped and heat-embossed the flower (from Ditto stamps) many times and paper-pieced them to a single flower for added dimension.  I also stamped and heat-embossed the house border (from Heidi Grace stamps) at the background for a cool effect.  The sentiment is from Printworks and the arrow from Stampendous.  I incorporated some black ribbon and stitched all over this card.  If you have seen most of my cards, I seldom make cards that are primarily black...I love colors and can't stay away with them completely.  So, as long two thirds of my project is black, I am cool with that!...LOL  Anyway, what do you think?  Hop on over at MayzyArt Blog to enter your own, unique project in our Challenge. This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

1.    Little Miss Muffet featuring "Loads of Layers"
2.    Bunny Zoe Crafts featuring "Girls, Girls, Girls"

Happy Birthday Cupcake Girl Card...

Hey there, guys!  It's been a week since my last post and I can't believe it took me that long...LOL  Well, today, I want to share this card that I made for a 4-year old daughter of a friend.  The main image is from Whipper Snapper Designs and I colored her with my Promarker, Prismacolor and Sharpie markers.  I used kraft CS as the base and the the panels to which I stamped the images and matted them with a light blue CS.  I admit, it's a lot challenging to color with this type of CS as I don't really know how intense or light the colors appear.  Some shades I had to color over and over to achieve the result I'm satisfied with.  Anyway, the banner stamp is from Studio G and the sentiment is from Adam Pescott (one of the free stamps I got from buying a magazine).  As you can see, I also dry embossed my panels with Cuttlebug (Cupcakes from "Once Upon a Princess" and Stitches from "Give a Hoot" sets). I also added a couple of blue gems in the center of the flowers.  This is so much fun to make and totally happy with the result.  This card is entered into the following Challenges:

1.    Paper Crafting Journey featuring "Colour it Up"
2.    Papertake Weekly featuring "Anything Goes"
3.    Try it on Tuesday featuring "Anything Goes"
4.    Whoopsie Daisy featuring "Bling"

Circus Happier Birthday Vintage-Easel Card...Join us for a new MayzyArt Challenge!

Hi there, friends!  Oh wow, I can't believe 2 weeks had passed after our first MayzyArt Challenge was launched.  Yes, time flew by so fast and I am so excited to find out who wins our first Challenge.  Don't worry, we'll find out soon enough.  But what's the good news?..Once a door closes, another opens so, we are launching our next Challenge and this time, it's all about CIRCUS! MayzyArt has several stamps for this theme so, if you wish to join us, hop on MayzyArt Blog and enter your projects there.

Here is my square (5.5") Vintage-Easel DT card for the MayzyArt Circus Challenge.  Isn't this image so pretty?  My hubby grew up in the Circus as his father started as a tightrope walker and eventually owned and managed one as he was growing up.  So, in honor of my Father-in-law, I chose this image.  She is called "Tightrope Walker" and is available at MayzyArt Shop.  I colored her with my Promarker and Prismacolor markers, added some glitters (Stickles) and braided 3 strands of natural twine for the rope and attached to the card with a mini clothespin (these are sooo cute!). I gave her an earring using a blue gem.  I added a layered Prima flowers with copper brad at the center.  My patterned background paper is from My Mind's Eye (Boy Stack) and the Kraft DP (circus inspired) is from Paper Studio (Everyday Kraft).  I used several Distress inks (Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo, Frayed Burlap) to add a vintage feel to this project (oh, did you see those tickets I cut-out from the DP?  They are distressed with Fired Brick, Rusty Hinge and Faded Jeans).  I used Fiskars for the sentiment and stamped it over a fancy tag I die-cut from Spellbinders and fastened with a couple of copper brads.  I also used Stampabilities for the "Oh happy day" sentiment located at the personal message space.  This card was a lot of work but it's all worth it...I love the result!  So, what do you all think?  This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

1.    Saturday Challenge featuring "Anything Goes"
