Scripture Series: God is the Strength of my Heart Card---Join us for an Inspiring Challenge at Word Art Wednesday!

Hey there, Crafty friends!  It's Wednesday once again and time to showcase another Challenge at Word Art Wednesday (WAW).  This week is crazy busy for me having to make the first of the three cards for my Design Team projects.  Have you ever felt overwhelmed by so much responsibilities that you're just stressing from thinking about it/them?  There's like a dozen crafts I wanted to get done but there's just no way they can all be accomplished.  When I experience moments like that, I just simply tell myself to switch my focus from relying on my own strength and abilities---instead look unto JESUS, the Author and the Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Wrapped in human flesh, we get tired and weary and though our minds can think of accomplishing a million task in a second or two, our bodies couldn't keep up.  So, I ask for supernatural power that comes from the Lord to sustain me that I may be able to accomplish the task He has set before me.  There's no task that is miniature or insignificant for the Lord.  I call on His Name for everything from faith moving mountain situations to as simple as asking Him to show me where I dropped a needle in the carpet.  He is constantly living inside of me and cares for me from the biggest to the littlest of things---He is my strength, living inside my heart and loves me forever.

This is the message of the scripture in Psalm 73:26,highlighted here today, available free for you to download at WAW.  I used an image that I got for free from Sureya called "Keicea."  I enjoyed coloring this great image with my ProMarker/Prismacolor/Spectrum Noir markers.  I added a touch of glitter to the center of the flowers in the image.  My base card is a white CS measuring 5.5-inches square.  I didn't use any design papers here, instead I stamped a couple of background images ("scribbles" from Tim Holtz stamps and the "flowers-butterflies" stamp from Inkadinkado rubber stamps) onto a CS and created my own DP's using different types of inks and colors.  I used an MS punch to die cut those borders, added some ribbons, white gems, a brad and a brown crochet flower that I made (and sell too!---Check "My Etsy" in my sidebar).  I added color to the sentiment using Paint, die cut it into a circle (as well as the circle behind the image) using my Circle Nestabilities (2nd and 3rd from the biggest) and added some inking using Tim Holtz Distress Ink---Frayed Burlap.  Lastly, I stitched all over this Card.  It came out wonderfully and I love it!

Scripture Series: Let My Heart Be Sound Side Step Card---Hop on Over at Word Art Wednesday and Join our Inspirational Challenge!

It's another Wednesday morning and a brand new day to give thanks to our Almighty Father.  There's a lot of chaos happening all over the world these days including the recent meteorite that struck Russia.  You just have to look all around you, be willing to stop and observe and you'll know that our country and the rest of the world is turning away from the things of God and the word "tolerance" is  given a new meaning.  What used to be right is being branded as wrong and what is wrong, people promoting as right.  Modern living and liberal standards are being forced onto everyone by the combined efforts of entertainment, media and politics which promotes a way of living based on every individual's view of right or wrong, whichever is convenient, their environment or culture.  The notion that by allowing every man to decide on their actions and that their wrong decisions will not affect others is a dangerous ground to stand on. Why?  Because men aren't perfect! Those of us who have put our faith solely in what Jesus did on the Cross as our means of salvation and rely on the infallible Word of God for our daily living, need to pray for our country.  This is not the time to sleep...Awaken, Church of God!  We are here to be the "Salt and Light" of this world and to show forth "The Way."  The Bible says:

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:13-16)

The free Word Art that is featured this week at Word Art Wednesday features Psalm 119:80, "Let my heart be sound in thy statutes; that I be not ashamed."  This is such a powerful verse that speak of diligently seeking the Word of God (day and night) that the Word of God will be written in our hearts and that the voice of the Holy Spirit ( Who always stands by the finished work of Jesus Christ on the Cross) will guide as as we walk our lives daily.  That we stay faithful to God's Word, no  matter what the cost.  For our hope is beyond what this world can offer...It is the life everlasting that awaits those that believe in Christ---our true inheritance---our true life!  Because of this, we share the Good News of the Gospel (salvation through faith in Christ) for we know that the time is drawing near.

So, here is my Card.  The cute "Music Man" image is from Digi Darla who happens to be one of our sponsors this week together with Heart and Soul Rubber Stamps.  The "Ivy Window" is an image from Make It Crafty and I colored both with my ProMarker/Prismacolor/Spectrum Noir Markers.  I inked the window using Tim Holtz "Tea Dye"Distress Ink to achieve some depth, added some Lime Green glitter (Stickles) to the vine in that window and yellow glitters to the flower beside the Music Man.  I used a couple of embossing folders (from Sizzix-Tim Holtz Alterations and Paper Studio) for  accent on the step panels.  I stamped and cut the Music Player from Heidi Grace Designs.  I placed several gems on the card and the envelope-box.  I used an MS Punch to create that design  on the top panel of the window.  Lastly, I stitched all over this card.  I am very happy with the results.

Woof Bark Happy Birthday Card---Visit our Neigborhood, 613 Avenue Create, and Have Fun with our Challenge!

Hello friends.  It's still Sunday and apologize for not getting this post as early today as possible.  It was a busy day at the Church and had some family time with my hubby and son, my very excuse!...LOL  The day went well as my son got baptized in water with 2 other adults in our Church in front of all the brethren.  At 7 years old, he was really eager to show everyone how he loves Jesus.  He  has known God since he was a baby and at age 4, just for formality, I led him to a prayer of acceptance.  Just several months ago, we both felt it's time for him to proclaim his faith in Jesus Christ.  I am very grateful to the Lord for having a son whose heart is after God.  As I continue to lead my son to the very teaching of God in the scriptures, I know that the Lord is right there with me to raise him in the knowledge of Him---for His glory and His honor!  The Bible says:

"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." (Proverbs 22:6)

"Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord."  (Ephesians 6:4)

"Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."  (Deuteronomy 11:19)

Anyway,  I just want to share with you the card I made for today's Challenge at 613 Avenue Create.  We have a Color Challenge happening right now featuring the colors---pink, brown, cream or white.  As you can see with my card, it's pretty much open to your interpretation.  I got all colors down but baby blue was my emphasis.  We are sponsored by Eureka stamps that is why this all doggie image is from Eureka stamps which I colored with my ProMarker/Prismacolor and Spectrum Noir markers.  I used a 5.5-inches Kraft CS as a base for my card as well as baby blue CS for matting.  I die-cut a couple of Nestabilities (Octagon and Scallop Octagon for produce that shape accent and heat embossed all the sentiments (from Recollections and Printworks).  The paw prints that were stamped is from Recollections too.  All the DP's are from My Mind's Eye.  I incorporated some inking using the Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress ink, added some Stickles glitter (Orange Peel), some gems from Hotfix and stitching.  I love how the dogs got their own distinct color.  It was a challenge for me to color this image but now that I have the complete picture, I'm pretty happy with it.  Hope you like it too.

Make Today Your Day Card---We have Another Challenge at MayzyArt!

Hi, everyone!   It's quite a hectic week for me having to finish 3 DT cards together with all the usual responsibilities with my family at home, at Church and with friends too.  But things needed to get done and I can only thank the Lord Jesus for providing me the strength to keep up with all these responsibilities and commitments.  Many times, I ran out of ideas or there are also days where I wanted to do a lot including trying many techniques that it all clashes in my head...LOL  In those times, I simply let go of all the stress, breath for a moment and utter a prayer---"Lord help me create something nice today." And as I begin to gather my materials, things are coming to my head little by little.  I don't picture my creation until materials are put away and mess cleaned up,  then,  I set my finished project in front of me, appreciate how it came about and thank the Lord for everything---Yes, everything!  The Bible says:

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." (John 15:5)

That's why in everything I do, I give God all the glory.  Come to think about it, if I am not feeling well, then, I will not be able to do anything.  If I don't have eye to see, then it would be interesting to put together a detailed work such as this and many more reasons I will not have the space nor the time to share here.  Even the air I breathe belongs to Him...This is the very reason why it is important for me to give Him all the glory.  I am simply a vessel for the Almighty God to use and give glory to His Name.

Anyway, I want to share with you a Card I made for your inspiration at this week's MayzyArt Challenge.  The theme is Musical and you can interpret it your own way.  I used one of Mayzy's cute gal digis called "Amy" and colored here with my ProMarker/Prismacolor/Spectrum Noir markers.  I started with a square Kraft base CS measuring 5.5-inches.  All the DP's are from Paper Studio, the border punch from EK Success and the ribbon from my stash.  A couple of Nestabilities were used (Scallop and Circle---2nd to the largest of both) to produce the shape the image is mounted on.  The sentiment is a freebie from Create with TLC and the gems are from Hotfix.  I stamped some swirls behind the main image and those were from Autumn Leaves.  Lastly, I finished it up by stitching.  I think it came out pretty good, what about you?

Scripture Series: Let Us Love One Another Stair Step Card---Join and Inspire us with Your Creation at Word Art Wednesday!

Hello everyone and I'm back with another post highlighting the card I made for this week's Challenge at Word Art Wednesday (WAW).  It's been a busy, busy week and there's a lot more things to be done that sometimes, I would like to panic but that's the good thing when the Lord is on my side.  I don't walk with my own strength for He is my strength.  The Bible tells every person that put their faith in Jesus Christ this very compelling verse:

"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."  (Galatians 2:20)

I know that every move I make is guided by the Lord and that even in failures, things work together for the good for those who love Jesus and live according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).  Every idea, plan, inspiration I have in making my projects comes from the Lord and I will always be grateful for today's card is not an exception.  I am sure we all have moments when there's just no idea flowing and it happens to me when I have a lot in my plate.  After calling on Jesus for help,  He is always faithful to always be there every moment of my life.  He is awesome.

Okay, so today's free Word Art ( you can download by visiting the WAW Blog) is taken from 1 John 4:7 asking us  to "love one another as a testimony that we belong to God and that we know Him.".  The ways of the world is totally opposite from the ways of God.  Before we came to the saving knowledge of Jesus, we rely on our feelings to prove love or the lack thereof.  Yet the example of Jesus Christ best show what love truly is all about---it is a choice and acting on that choice.  The Bible said that "while we were sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8).  I thank Him that He didn't wait for us to clean up our act before He paid the ultimate price for our salvation for there is no such time we would be able to clean up ourselves apart from God.  It was a hopeless situation that only God can fix.  Although He paid for everyone's sins by dying on the Cross, the sad thing is that only those that accept that sacrifice He made for everyone can take advantage of it.  Human beings, like in the old times, still think they can buy their own salvation by following man-made religions instead of the Only Way God has graciously given.  We owe it to ourselves to know the "Truth" so, we need to test every belief system that tries to captivate our minds through the magnifying lens of the Scriptures.  You'd be surprised what you'll find out by doing some research.  "God is Love"---not "love is God." The world thinks that love is what makes a person feel good and that it is alright to sacrifice moral principles and other rights in order to obtain such "love."  Yet this kind of love has a selfish origin unlike the love of God---Holy and True!  And just as Jesus showed us, we are to show the Jesus kind of love to every person we come across each day.

So, here's my inspiration Card for this week's WAW Challenge.  I used a couple of my Magnolia images (Tilda and Edwin with hearts) to make a Stair-Step Card.  I colored these cuties with my Promaker/Prismacolor/Spectrum Noir markers with some paper-piecing.  The card measure approximately 5.5-inch on each side and I used a Kraft CS as base card together with a Moss green CS for my panels and matting.  All the DP's are from K & Company, the flowers from Prima with various colored brads in it's center.  I used three Nestabilities dies for the die-cut shapes (Lacey Labels One, and Circle), used my Tag Curler which I had for years and used for the first time today to attach the metal tag to my satin ribbon, added some glitters (Diamond-Stickle) to the flower petals, placed several white gems all over this card and of course, the stitching.  I made sure there's a space at the back of the creation to write a personalized message but just didn't take a picture to show you here.  Again, I thank the Lord for the inspiration and the strength to make this at such a hectic time.   He is always faithful!  Would love to hear your comments on this creation.

Scripture Series: Sweetness of a Man's Friend Center Step Card---Be Inspired by Another Challenge at Word Art Wednesday!

Hi guys and gals...Here I am with another inspirational post for you as I feature a card for Word Art Wednesday (WAW).  These days I am surely missing lots of my friends back in the Philippines where I grew up for most of my life.  I find myself reminiscing the days back when I was in grade school.  I had some pretty good experience and part of that memory was having a best friend almost all the time.  I believe that those people were sent by God to help shape my character and attitude and they will never be forgotten.  I just hope that I would have a way of knowing where some of them may be at this time.  Before I came to know the Lord Jesus, I have quite a bit of friends that I hang out with.  We thought we would stay friends till we grow older but shortly after I began a relationship with the Lord Jesus, those friends started distancing themselves from me.  In my mind, I knew I was still the same person I was with them and the only thing that changed was that I have a new relationship with the Creator and as the day passed, I found myself not being invited to the usual get together times that I was the first one to know before.  It felt sad to be isolated by people that I was very close with, to not be part of their inner circle anymore.  I decided I would not let that get me down.  That's because my relationship with my Father in heaven has so much more to offer than any friend on earth will ever give.  And God didn't disappoint!  He brought to my life lots of friends who loves Jesus the same way I love Him.  These people helped me get through the difficult times in my life not just by sweet words but with advice from the "Living Word of God."  It contains life, hope, peace and comfort beyond understanding.  So, it is very important to surround ourselves with people that love the Lord and that we can be accountable with.  True friends are heaven sent and we must treasure them that comes our way.  Want to share this scripture with you today:

"Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety."
(Proverbs 11:14)

So, here's my card for today's WAW Challenge.  We have a couple of sponsors providing fabulous prizes to our winners and one of them is Robyn's Fetish who graciously provided us with cute images to use for our projects today.  I chose this cute "It's a Dragonfly Day" image that I colored with my ProMarker/Prismacolor/Bic/Spectrum Noir markers and added some glitters ( Stickles-Diamond) on.  I decided to go for a Center Step Card measuring 5.5-inches using a White CS as base card.  I also gathered some Orange, Aqua Blue and Yellow CS for matting my panels.  I used my Cuttlebug to emboss and die cut some shapes with Nestabilities (Scallop and Lacey Circle).  The butterflies were cut using an MS Punch and I added several brads.  The DP is from K & Company.  The sentiment is a free Word Art that you can download from the WAW Blog.  You can use it to make a project and link it to our ongoing Challenge or link other projects with uplifting message and family-friendly (upto 5 projects) for more chances to win. Lastly, I stitched all over this card for a polished look.  Hope you like it.

Not Perfect, Just Unique Card---Come and Join our Fun Challenge at 613 Avenue Create!

Good Sunday morning, everyone!  It is a day to meet up with fellow believers all over the world to bring praise and worship to the our Almighty God.  "It is good to praise the Lord and make music to the Name of God, Most High.  To proclaim His love and faithfulness in the morning and through the night." (Psalm 92:1-2).  So, what should I be grateful for today?  The fact that I am still alive and is able to share all His wonderful works to everyone who would listen.  That I can be His instrument to bless others in situations that I will encounter today.  For providing all my needs here on earth yet prepared a wonderful place for me in His Kingdom...there are just too many things to be thankful about.  But what gets me the most is that He loves me despite all my imperfections.  That I don't need to be anybody else just to merit His favor. That I just need to be myself---that which He created uniquely from anybody else.  There was no special formula or amount of work on our part to come to His presence.  It rest solely on the finished work of Jesus Christ!---Not in religion or any ways of man.  The Word of God says in Isaiah 64:6, "All of us have become like one who is unclean and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf and like the wind our sins sweep us away." To accept what Jesus has done for me and allowing Him to live inside my heart and be my Lord and Savior had brought new meaning to my life.  He has shown me not just to live in the "now" but to look forward to a future where time will not be a factor.  His Spirit inside of me transforms me from glory to glory and though I'm not perfect, He is working with me daily to be transformed in the image and likeness of Jesus.  So, if you have not done so, give Jesus a chance in your life...He is knocking at the door of your hearts.

So today, I want to share with you an inspiration card for another great Challenge happening at 613 Avenue Create.  It's an Anything Goes Challenge this week with an optional "Love" twist.  It can be a project about love or use something you love in the project---like for example:  techniques you love, embellishment, card lay-out, design, papers etc.  It's open for your interpretation.  In this Card, I used a QKR Stampede image called "Old Lady."  I paper pieced her clothes and colored her with my ProMarker/Prismacolor markers.  All DP's are from K & Company which I laid and matted with coordinating color CS.  My base card is Kraft measuring 5.5-inches.  I incorporated some white gems and heart gems from Imaginisce, a gorgeous ribbon from my stash and a border die cut with an MS Punch.  I cut the circles using a MS Small Circle Cutter.  I added some Glossy Accents to the image's eyeglasses and glitters (Xmas Red and Silver Stickles) to her accessories.  And this is what I really love about this card---ready?  It's the sentiment I got free from Ginger's House.  Then, what was left was to stitch all over this card.  Love, love, love the results!

Moments That Take Our Breath Away Card---Join us for Anything Goes at MayzyArt!

Hi there, friends!  It's been a loaded week for me  having to do 3 different cards for my Design Teams.  That combined with the many other things I do at home, family, Church, friends---the list can be overwhelming.  There are times when I am faced with not knowing what to do with a project and it can be stressing especially if time is a factor.  That is the time I sit down, look at all the things I needed done and utter a prayer, asking Jesus to help me out.  To others, it may seem like not much of a need but having a relationship with my Savior and knowing Him through His Word (the Bible), I know that He delights when I go to Him for every thing that affects my life.  I may not see Him physically but He is with me 24/7, more than anyone will ever be.  He created me, thus, He knows me very well. He has empowered me with specific qualities and capabilities to fulfill the purpose He created me for and all I needed to do is to stay plugged into Him and see His power take effect in my life.  Discovering what He has already set for me is sometimes nerve-wracking but also exciting because no matter what life throws at me, I know I am not alone and He is always with me and in me...loving me unconditionally!  He is the Friend all of us will ever need!  His love is so great that He chose to die on the Cross to bring me back from death caused by rebellion, transformed me from my shameful state and made me His righteousness in Christ Jesus.  I am comforted by His promises in these Scriptures:

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."(Jeremiah 29:11)

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)

So here's what I came up with after asking the Lord in prayer what to create.  I used a darling image from Beansie Doodles called "Spring Swing Rebekah" as the main image in this card.  Sharreldine, the Owner of the shop, is new in the digi stamp world so, Mayzy asked us to highlight her artwork in this week's Challenge at MayzyArt.  I colored this fab image with my ProMarker/Prismacolor markers, die-cut the frame and the border using my Cricut Elegant Edges cartridge (love those loops) and laid them on a 5.5-inch Kraft card base.  The DP I used to paper-piece her dress is from my scraps and incorporated more Kraft, Aqua Blue and Black CS from Paper Studio for my panels and matting.   The flower was formed from 2 stamps---Scrappy Cat and Autumn Leaves.  The dot I stamped for the background is from TPC Studio, the swirls on the leaves which I die-cut with an MS punch is from Hot Off the Press.  The main sentiment is from Cloud 9.  I added some brads and glitters (Stickles-Diamond) to bling this up.  Finally, I stitched all over this card.  To find out how to join the MayzyArt Challenge and the rules, please visit the Blog.  Fabulous prizes awaits our winners.
