Everything That Has Breath Card---Join the Fun in our Anything Goes Challenge at 613 Avenue Create!

Good Monday morning, everyone.  Well, I don't usually  post on Mondays but I'm a day late with this so, here we go.  We have an Anything Goes Challenge with an optional Twist (Create your own challenge) that started yesterday at 613 Avenue Create.  Like everyone else, this month is really hectic for me and I don't run out of things to do and have piles of projects waiting for me to have time for.  I guess that's the life of a Crafter---never running out of things to do and so many things to explore. Last week, my family and I watched the movie "Left Behind" (with Nicolas Cage) in our favorite discounted theater ($2 bucks a person, can't beat that!).  This  deals with one of the great prophetic events written in the Bible whom believers know us "Rapture of the Church."  The movie didn't specifically mention that but when people are taken away in a split second (a wink of an eye) and their common denominator is their faith (to trust, adhere, rely, depend upon) in the finished work of Jesus Christ, it ushers into the time of Tribulation where those that didn't turn to the saving grace of Christ will experience the wrath of God.   While the movie focused on the disappearance of people and chaos in the world as people searched for missing love ones, it fails to provide a solution to the problem.  It does not give a clear message to how one can escape God's wrath and didn't show genuine remorse of the characters.   Other than attending Church, having a Bible, writing a verse or seeing verses in one's possession, the movie didn't successfully distinguished why some people were taken away.  These with many other details in the movie left me dissatisfied and disappointed.  It seemed as though the writer/s didn't have adept knowledge of God's Word  which is sadly common in several "Bible-based" movies these days.  If its not lacking in Biblical content, it attempts to twist or add into God's Word  like in the recent movie, "Noah."  You see, it's one thing to scare people but it's pointless when a solution is not provided.  Mark 13:32-37 tells us, "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.  Be on guard! Be alert ! You do not know when that time will come.  It's like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.  "Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back--whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn.  If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping.  What I say to you, I say to everyone: 'Watch!' "

What the Lord have spoken will happen in the hour and time God appointed.  Right now, the door to the "Ark of Grace" is still wide open.  Jesus uttered in John 14:6, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."  Through faith and acceptance of what Christ has done in our behalf through His death, burial and resurrection, you are Born-again (John 3:3) into God's Kingdom and shall be with Him forever.  It's not about what you have done (good or bad) that saves you in that day but it's solely based on whether you have accepted the payment that Jesus made for your sins that sets you free from sin's punishment.  Ephesians 2:8-9 clearly sends that message, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast."  Like in the time of Noah, the Ark of Grace is going to close and when it does, everyone outside will suffer the punishment prepared for the rebellious and the ungodly.  There's still time to make that decision today and every minute counts.  Call unto Jesus and He will take you to safety.  I would like to share the following verses to encourage us of the blessed of hope that we have in Christ.

"As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.  For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark;  and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.  Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left.  Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.  "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.  But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.  So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.  "Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time?  It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.  I tell you the truth, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.  But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, 'My master is staying away a long time,'  and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards.  The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of.  He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."  (Matthew 24:37-51)

For this Card, I used an image called "Ballerina" from one of our sponsors this week, Fitztown.  I colored the image using my ProMarker/Prismacolor markers and glitters (Stickles-Crystal) to make it sparkle.  The base is Kraft, cut and scored to make a 5.5 inches square card.  I used a MS Punch to shape a couple of the side for excitement.  The DP's are all from My Mind's Eye.  I cut the circles including the vellum where the sentiment is written using my MS Circle Cutter.  I used Sizzix die for a couple of swirls, added some perfect pearls (White Opal) to them as well as several white nail head gems from Imaginisce.  The Prima flowers were layered and also glittered with Stickles-Diamond.  The center of the layered flowers was a cute rose from Recollections.  The sentiment is from Create with TLC which I had for quite sometime now and is perfect for this creation.  Lastly, I did some fancy and regular stitching on this card.  I am delighted with the result.

  14. What a beautiful ballerina card. I like that you pointed out the unscriptural content, or lack of any scripture at all, in so many movies which are billed as "Christian." Thank you for sharing the Word and your project with us at Craft Hoarders Anonymous!
