Not a Card But My First Handmade Crochet Baby Blanket...

Hey there...I'm back the 2nd time around today after posting the Baby Shower Card I made for a friend.  As promised, I am going to show you another gift I made for her (aside from the card and few other goodies).  She's having a boy so, after receiving her Baby Shower invitation which was a week from the event (Phew, this project was rushed), I decided I'd make a Crochet Baby Blanket.  I made crochet flowers before and currently making a crochet bed cover for us (nowhere near finish...LOL) but I made this in my spare time in one week...I am amazed I did it (of course with a couple of sleepless nights)!  When we finally got to see each other during the event, my friend liked it and was surprised I made it for her...Everyone could not believe I could make such a nice project for they know I was more into Cardmaking more than anything else.  I was so happy I got to do one and she said "I can tell this is going to be one of my favorite blankets to wrap around my baby."  Oh what an honor!  I thank God for the strength on those days and for the talent He has given...I love you, Jesus!  So, here are the pics:

HANDMADE CROCHET BABY BLANKET (BOY) IN MY FRIEND'S HANDS:

By the way, I made the blanket using more than half of the "Pound of Love" Lion Brand Yarn and if you notice in the picture, it's the size of a regular ottoman.  I used V-stiches, double crochets and single crochets with a J/10 hook.  Okay, this is all for now and hope to hear your comments too.  Have a fun week...Lovelots!

Hot Rod Baby Shower Card...

Hi there, friends!  Today, I want to show you a card I made for a friend that had her Baby shower recently.  We are so excited for her because she has 2 girls (4 and 2 years old) and really wanting a boy for her third child.  And she did...she will finally hold the little fella in a month or so.  So, I made a simple card for her together with a crochet baby blanket (I made for the first time) that I will be posting here pretty soon as well.  I didn't have a lot of time to make an elaborate card (blame it on the sleepless nights completing the blanket...LOL) so, here's what I came up with.  I used an A2 card for the base and lined it up with another white that I embossed with my Cuttlebug.  The DP was from my scraps, a nice ribbon, 3 different color buttons from Paper Studio and the sentiment is from Clearly Wordsworth.  The main image is from Inkadinkado that I paper pieced and colored with my Prismacolor markers.  The inside message is from Cloud 9.  I appreciate simple styles but when I am the ones making it, it seemed like it was not enough...LOL  Maybe because I got used to spending lots of hours making one card.  Anyway, my friend liked it and love, love, love the baby blanket.  If you want to see the Baby Blanket I made, browse on top of this post and you'll find some pics...So, let me know what you think.  This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

1.    Oldie but a Goodie featuring "Anything Goes"
2.    One Stop Craft featuring "For the Boys"

Happy Graduation-Spread Your Wings Card...

Hi there, fellow Crafters!  Just want to share this A2 card that I made for a relative whose grand-daughter  is graduating from high school this year.  I don't remember making a lot of graduation cards.  In fact, I think this is my second card with this theme.  Anyway, I decided to use an image from Saturated Canary Collection called "Nevaeh."  (Finally, I am able to use one of the images I bought from her...LOL) I think she pretty much fit the description she told me her grand-daughter is like.  I used my Promarker/Prismacolor Markers to color this pretty image.  I did not use any DP here instead, I used my Cuttlebug to emboss a couple of the panels for added dimension.  All CS are Kraft colored.  The "Celebration" sentiment is from Heidi Grace Stamps, the brackets from Inkadinkado and the message sentiment is from "The Ultimate Guide to a Perfect Card" book that I printed in the computer together with a "Happy Graduation" greeting.  I included several gems (variety of colors), some glitters (Stickes) to her dress and stitched all over the card.  I thought this card came out beautifully.  This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

1.    Creative Card Crew featuring "Dimension"
2.    The Crazy Challenge featuring "Anything 3D"
3.    Sweet Stamps Blog featuring "Anything Goes"
4.    Penny's Paper-Crafty featuring "Anything Goes"

8.    Make it Monday featuring "Anything Goes"

Thought of you Flower-Tree Stair-Step Card with First MayzyArt Challenge...

Hello guys...Oh, I'm so excited...and I just can't hide it!  (Singing this song in my head!...LOL).  Why am I thrilled?  It's because MayzyArt is holding its first ever challenge today and I happen to be one of the six DT's to showcase Mayzy's wonderful artworks.  Now, this is my first ever DT experience so, could you please help us have a successful launch?  (Pretty, please!)  All you have to do is go to MayzyArt's blog and submit the link to your wonderful creations through Mr. Linky.  Our theme is "May Flowers."...You can join us even if you don't use a Mayzy image and if chosen as winner, you can win 3 MayzyArt digi stamps.  Now, if you use a Mayzy image and your project is chosen by Mayzy (herself), you can win 5 whopping Mayzy digi images...(My, oh my, this is awesome, I wish I can join...LOL).  The challenge will run for a couple of weeks so, you have all the time to visit Mayzy's shop and get those "must have" digis.  Did I tell you that she sells them at a very reasonable price and right now, she is offering a 20% off with your purchase?   Now, this is for a limited time, so you better hop on her blog and get the code...Oh, and she also includes one exclusive image (different every month) with your purchase which will not be sold in her store .Can't wait to see what you can come up with.

Okay, here's my featured card for the MayzyArt "May Flower" challenge.  I did quite a few Stair-step cards before but it's been a while so, decided on making one with this wonderful Mayzy image (Xandra and Vespa).  The card is almost a 6" square.  I colored the image with my Promarker/Prismacolor Markers.  I added a nice tree using Serenade Cricut Cartridge and the sentiment from Wildcard Cartridge.  At the very back is a fence die-cut with an MS Punch.  I also incorporated some red gems and a bit of glitters (Stickles, diamond) for added dimension.  I stamped the flowers (from Paper Studio) on different colored CS and hand-cut them.  All the CS used are from Paper Studio and American Crafts.  Finally, I have my trusted sewing machine to stitch all over, inside and out...So, what do you all think?  I love, love, love Mayzy's images.  It's a dream to color!  This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

By the way, at the very back of this card is a special space where a personal message can be included.  I think it's important to be able to add a personal touch to any card you intend to give to someone you love.  Anyway, I hope you get even an itty-bitty inspiration from my project.  Today is a nice day and who to thank for such a wonderful morning?...None other than my Father God!  Giving back all the glory to Jesus...my hope and inspiration, of course, before my family!  God bless y'all!

Bloom Happy Flower Card...

Hello there, wonderful Crafters and to all the Mommies out there like me, "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!"  Once again, it's been a busy week but I made this card last night and so glad I was able to finish.  The image is from one of my favorite artists, Mo Manning, which I colored many months ago...I was so excited to color her with my ProMarker and Prismacolor Markers but didn't have time to make up a card (oh, the story of my life!) LOL.  Finally, she's out and about and what a "cutie" she turned out.  I designed my own DP's by using Kraft CS and stamped with my favorite rubber/cling and clear stamps.  The base panel was stamped with a flower background from Stampendous and so as the round sentiments except for one that has "hello" which came from Heidi Grace.  I used my Cricut Elegant Edges Cartridge for the first time (I tell you, I am totally loving this Cart) to cut the scallop-sunflower shaped panel (I am truly amazed!).  I also die-cut a circle where I stamped a flower border (from Fiskars) across several times and attached it to the scallop panel. I added some ribbon, different kinds of gems, subtle glitters on center of flowers, placed a button at one of my handmade crochet flowers (I sell those at MY ETSY store), stitching in and out of the Card and tadah...fresh card for y'all!  Hope you enjoy the pics...This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

Happy Day! My first DT work and it's with MayzyArt Stamps...

Hi guys and gals…I am doing a happy dance right now as it’s official, I’m one of the MayzyArt DT’s (did I mention it’s my first time?…LOL) and you can see me with 5 other talented ladies at MayzyArt Blog with our intros and projects.  A week or so ago, I responded to her DT call and a few days after, I was in.  Our first MayzyArt Challenge will start on May 19th (I think?)  Keep an eye on it folks, as it will be a fun one.  I found Mayzy a couple of months ago while I was browsing online for digital stamps at Etsy (her images are so strikingly detailed) and from then on, I purchased about 90% of her images available…They’re very affordable and awesome to color and she keeps adding new stamps every couple of days.  So, without further ado, here are the other DT’s I will be working with in the upcoming MayzyArt Challenges:

Congratulations ladies and looking forward to working with y’all!

Hi there, Crafty people!  Here’s an intro project I made as official DT for MayzyArt Stamps…I still can’t believe I made it amidst all the talented people that applied.  (Doing a happy dance!) You can get to know me and the other 5 wonderful DT’s with our intro projects by going to MayzyArt blog.  Now, I have finished this card early (like 3 AM…LOL) this morning and I am very pleased with the results.  I used MayzyArt, featuring “Bibi’s Harmony” and colored her with my ProMarker and Prismacolor markers.  I wanted  her colors to float in the card so, I decided to use mostly all white CS and embossed them with 3 different folders---one from Sizzix Basic Grey and two from Cuttlebug.  My CS’s are from Colorbok (whites) and Paper Studio (grays).  The flowers and the sentiments are all from Studio 112.  I added some silver glitters (Stickles) at the center of the flowers for added dimension.  And to finished it all, I stitched on the card, inside and out.  Hope you like this and if you do, there will be many more great projects you wouldn’t want to miss so, be sure to sign up as a follower on my blog…This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

Simply Fabulous Dancer Card...

Hi there, Crafty Friends!  I've been MIA (here in our Blogging world) for quite sometime.  I am not feeling better due to extreme allergies from insect bites (I don't even know what's biting me!).  I've never had this kind of allergic reaction before but through God's help, I am able to overcome the pain and itch...no fun!  Anyway, today, I want to share this card that features MayzyArt Stamp.  She reminds me a lot of one of my favorite era (70's music) and also one of my Zumba instructors...LOL I layered the image for added dimension and colored her with my Bic and Prismacolor Markers.   My base CS is from Core'dinations, glittered DP from DCWV and the silver and metallic pink CS were from American Crafts Specialty Paper. I used a ribbon trim and a designer ribbon fastened with a brad.  Attached some heart gems and glittered the mirror ball and portions of the image's clothes.  I die-cut the silver CS with my Nestabilities and embossed the pink CS with a Tim Holtz embossing folder.  Lastly I printed the sentiment from my computer.  It was a challenge to put all this shiny things together but I think it turned out well...What do you think?  This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

1.    Dream Valley featuring "Special Lady"
2.    Lollipop Crafts featuring "Anything Goes"
3.    Always Crafting featuring "Anything Goes"
