You'll Never Guess Card...Join us for the Silly Challenge at MayzyArt!

Hola, everyone!  Would you believe that two weeks has passed and it's time for another MayzyArt Challenge.  This time, we want to see your "Silly" creations.  Of course, it's subject to your own interpretation yet the most important thing is that you enjoy the creative process.  MayzyArt has a lot of wonderful stamps you can use so, head on over to her Etsy store and grab some.  If you don't have a MayzyArt stamp, you can still join us by using any stamps in your collection.  Pretty fun, huh!

Okay, going back to the Challenge,  I am highlighting Mayzy's "California Roll" digi image for my DT card today.  The first time I saw her, I fell in love with the awesome expression on her face and posture.  I had to alter Mayzy's actual image by not showing her belly.  I want her to have an undershirt thus, I use my Paint program to accomplish the change.  Another thing is that my family loves Sushi so, what's not to love with this image?  I colored her with my ProMarker, Prismacolor and Sharpie markers and attached her to a digi "frame" image that I also colored from Tiddly Inks.  I printed out the "bubble sentiment" from Create with TLC.  I gathered all the DP's I wished to use from K & Company and My Mind's Eye.  The CS' are from my scraps mainly red, greens, orange and dark blue.  I added more embellishments by including a ribbon (magenta), a couple of doilies, brad, gems and a twine for the frame.  To finish it all up, I stitched all over, inside and outside of this card, even the envelope-box.  I am so proud of this project that after I was done, I spent some time just looking at it.  I know the Lord Jesus has given me the ideas to come up with wonderful creations every time.  He never fails!  I can't wait to see what you all are going to create so, head over to Mayzy's Blog to link your projects.  This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

1.    Saturday Challenge featuring "Bright and Cheerful"
2.    Crafty Catz Weekly featuring "All that Glitters" (I used several gems)

Ur the Best Dancer Card...

Hi, everyone...Hope you are having a wonderful day!  Wow, it's almost the end of the month and I realized that I have not made a lot of projects for July, 2012.  It's amazing how busy I had been.  So, hopefully, I can squeeze in a couple of projects before the next month comes.  I'm showing you today the card I made for a friend who also happens to be one of my fave Zumba instructors.  I think this image from MayzyArt is so much like her which I colored with my ProMarker/Prismacolor markers.  This card is an A7 size utilizing a Kraft card base with a ready made envelope.  The sentiment closest to the image is from Stampendous.  The Birthday sentiment and the inside message are from Printworks.  The envelope sentiment is from Studio G.  I embossed one of panels with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and the other was by Sizzix Tim Holtz.  I did inking with Distress Inks--- Black Soot and Tea Dye.   I added some ribbon and glitters (Stickles) for extra dimension.  So, what do y'all think? This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

1.    Simon Says Stamp featuring "Anything Goes"

Well, I am happy to say that my friend loved this card a lot.  She said that in reality, she would fall on those high-heel shoes...LOL  Anyway, I am extremely tired (sleepy) that a few times, I caught myself sleeping while typing this so, I guess I better hit bed soon.  My hubby's vehicle just gave up and would cost a lot to repair so, we spent the whole of yesterday looking for a decent and affordable used car but didn't find one.  We both got a bit frustrated but in the midst of disappointments, we know that God is on our side, guiding our every step so, as we continue to trust in Jesus, a replacement vehicle will come pretty soon.  Okay folks, I'm signing off!  God bless y'all!

Happy Birthday, It's a Celebration Card...

Hello there, folks!  Another busy week has passed and back to feature this Card I made recently.  I have colored this cute Bugaboo Image for quite sometime but didn't get a chance to incorporate her in a card.  I don't have prior ideas what the lay-out was going to be and I work by the moment so, here's what came out of it.  I used an A2 Kraft for my base card, other CS (mostly brown, orange and blue) are from my scraps as well as the DP.  I embossed a panel with my Cuttlebug using one of the folders from the Birthday Bash set and distressed it with 3 inks namely Broken China, Aged Mahogany and Vintage Photo.  I added a baby blue ribbon and stamped a couple of sentiments...the birthday ticket from Inkadinkado and the other from Studio G.  The main image is colored with Prismacolor and Sharpie markers with the addition of some orange glitters (Stickles) for added dimension.  I wanted to get that vintage and modern feel (I hope it makes sense...LOL) on this project so, hopefully, I got that done.  This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

1.  Pink Elephant featuring "Summer"
2.  Cupcake Craftroom featuring "Layers"
3.  Lia Stampz featuring "Anything Goes"
4.  Mema's Crafts featuring "Anything Goes"

7.  Fat Pages and Cards with Attitude featuring "Anything Goes"

Not a Card but a Decorated Candle for a Missionary Friend--Join us for a new MayzyArt Challenge!

Hello there, guys and gals!  I have not been around for a while due to very hectic schedule but I'm back to feature my project for a New MayzyArt Challenge.  I love cards and been showcasing fancy cards the past 4 Challenges since we launched but this time, it's "Anything but a Card."  I looked at all the things I knew how to do and this came immediately to mind.  I've done many candles late last year and had received lots of compliments from friends.  I also have a friend that I want to bless with this project because of her heart for Missions.  She and a few others from our Church just came back from their trip to Rwanda, Africa to feed 5,000 meals to hungry children and at the same time, feed their spirit with the knowledge of  Jesus Christ and of His Gospel.  She loves to wear her Indian clothing because aside from Rwanda,  India is also one of the countries we support for Missions.  Hence, this project is inspired by her and for her.

So, in this project, I used MayzyArt's "Madhuri."  Isn't she pretty?  I added some lines to her skirt to form those diamond patterns and colored her with my ProMarker/Prismacolor Markers.  I added some glitters (Stickles) for the ground she stands on.  I printed a quote from Amy Carmichael for a perfect message (Googled it) and added my friend's name and a personal message.  Once everything is ready, I transferred it to a 3 X 9 white scented Candle.  As you can see, I also added a ribbon and a scalloped tag with gem, ready to give it to her in a couple of days.  I can only hope she likes this.  So, what do y'all  think?  This Candle Project is entered into the following Challenges:

1.  My Mum's Craft Shop featuring "No Cards Allowed"
2.  Crafty Creations featuring  "Free for All"
3.  One Stitch at a Time featuring "Anything Goes"
4.  That Craft Place featuring "Anything Goes"

6.  Dream Valley featuring "Anything but a Square"
7.  One Stop Craft featuring "Travel"

Cheers to You---Pig with Cupcakes Card...

In a few hours, it's the fourth of July, 2012.  Want to wish everyone "Happy Independence Day!"  Well, today, I just want to share this A7 card I made for a friend who celebrated her Birthday recently.  I used a freebie image from Bugaboo stamps that I got a while back and colored it with my ProMarker/Prismacolor markers.  I added 3 different colored glitters (Stickles---namely Turquoise, Orange Peel and Cotton Candy) to the cupcakes.  Got some orange satin ribbon for extra dimension.  The DP's are from my scrap/stash and the glittered DP is from Paper Studio which I also die-cut with my Labels One Nesties.  The CS are 2 shades of brown.  The sentiment is from Studio G stamps and a part of the inside message is from the book "Ultimate Guide to a Perfect Card."  I'm amazed how it turned into a bright and happy card. This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

1.    Sassy Cheryl's featuring "Anything Goes"

I got a little sad today because we found one of the stray cats that visits our home in front of our door and before and we can do anything, died  in front of us.  And when we were leaving, we found another kitty close to our house that is laying on the grass, so weak.  We don't know what happened to them as the other day, they were all so healthy and strong.  Since we live in an apartment, the other day, somebody called the office saying that we were feeding the stray cats and told us that because of a complaint, we needed to stop.  But what can we do?  Literally, let these helpless creatures die from starvation and dehydration?  I was made to conclude the world is full of merciless people and while they don't do anything to protect these poor living creatures, they even oppose to those that try and help.  I prayed for every single cats that are in the property to be safe from these kinds of people---those who wants to harm and destroy them.  I know the Lord Jesus has heard my prayer.  I can only hope that when they (selfish people) come to a point where they would need someone to help them, they don't have anything to eat, need a little compassion, that someone will be there for them to do what they have not done...I'm sorry, I just feel very strongly about these matter.   If only I have a place to shelter all of these poor animals, I could have done so (I already own a dog and a cat).  The protection of the Lord be upon them and those that have God's heart to care for them.  Blessings to y'all!
