Scripture Series: Not a Card but a Shadowbox Wall Decor---Create in me A Clean Heart Framed Art...Join us for an Inspiring Challenge at Word Art Wednesday!

Hi everyone.  It's another beautiful Wednesday morning created by the Lord for all of us to bring praises to His Name.  I can't believe one week already passed from my last project post for Word Art Wednesday (WAW).  Time is surely passing by too quickly so we need to make the most of it serving the Lord in any area He entrusted us with and bring all nations to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.  Today, we have a nice Word Art for you to download for free at WAW.  It talks about one of the psalms that King David sang to God after he'd fallen into sin,  committed adultery in his heart and taking Bathsheba from her husband while he made sure he got killed in battle.  We hear stories like this in our time and we think, David needed to be punished for what he has done.  The Bible says in Romans 6:23:  "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." David knows the degree to which he'd fallen but it didn't stop him from coming to the throne of God and plead for mercy, forgiveness and cleansing.  Let us not forget that David is a King but he knew where His true power came from.  It's from the throne of God Who can take it away from him anytime.  Not only that, but he had an intimate relationship with his Father God that even at that moment of shame, he humbled himself before Him.  That tells me how David knew the God whom He served---He is a God Who cannot tolerate sin but is a loving and merciful God that responds to repentance and a humble heart.  Oh yes, let us not forget the other half of the verse in Romans 6:23..."but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we entered into a New Covenant with the Father.  How much more does grace abound these days after the Lord Jesus took the wages of our sin to Himself and set us free from the power of death.  I can't tell you how excited I am to be living in this period of grace when Jesus' blood obliterates all our sins by simply coming to Him with a repentant heart, humble enough to allow Him to live inside of us as our Lord and Savior.  Yes, He has given us "eternal life"---it is a free gift---meaning there's nothing we can do in it ourselves to attain it!  Only by having a personal relationship with Him through a new birth (John 3:3) can we avail of it...By accepting what Jesus did on the Cross as a payment for our sins (past, present and future), once and for all (encompassing anyone who will believe).  It reminds me of this old hymn---the lyrics still lives in my heart because it's all true in my life:

He paid the debt, He did not owe.
I owe the debt, I could not pay.
I needed Someone to wash my sins away.
And now I sing a brand new song, Amazing Grace!
Christ Jesus paid the debt that I could never pay.

I hope this inspires you to get to know Jesus in a personal way, if you have not done so yet.  Anyway, here's the project I made to inspire you for this week's Challenge at WAW.  I've been wanting to do the Shadowbox wall decor for over a year now hence, I bough several of those 8" X 10" frames at Michael's a year ago when they were on sale.  I am so glad that finally, I got to use one of them...LOL  So, I colored the cute Gilly's Bike image from Prairie Fairy Designs using my ProMarker/Prismacolor/Spectrum Noir markers and added Glossy accents to her eyeglasses (Oh, she's so adorable!).  All the DP's are from Paper Studio "Tattered and Worn" collection and used a Kraft CS for base and mats.  I altered the color of the Word Art by using Paint program just to match my design (Diane Noble of Daydream Designs has a nice tutorial about this in her site), stamped the flower image (from Ditto stamps) in a couple  of DP's, cut each layer and placed them altogether in alternating colors, added brads in the center from Recollections and incorporated several white gems from Imaginisce.  I used a Fiskars punch to achieve that lacy border.  Finally, it was time to stitched them altogether.   I am so happy with the results that I removed one of our wall decor and placed it in my home for display.   Hopefully, I'll be able to make a few more of this till all my shadow boxes are gone...LOL  Now, if I can find a wall to hang them in the future...Well!

  22. JoAnn, I remember when Archie (our Pastor) asked me to play that at the river one Sunday evening. It must be 25 years ago, but it has remained a favorite chorus of mine. And now I sing a brand new song, amazine grace all day long......
Your very frisky, fun and colorful card still sends the message straight to the heart.
