Scripture Series: Call His Name Jesus Card---Join the Inspirational/Fun/Anything Goes Challenge at Word Art Wednesday!

It's another Wednesday and I am here to share my project for our Challenge at Word Art Wednesday (WAW).  We are offering a free download of the Scripture Word Art I used in my card today at the WAW site. It's taken from Matthew 1:21 which says, "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins."  I would like to share the explanation my Life Application Bible has provided as it captures everything I'd like to share.  It says, "The angel declared to Joseph that Mary's child was conceived by the Holy Spirit and would be a son.  This reveals an important truth about Jesus---He is both God and human.  The infinite, unlimited God took on the limitations of humanity so He could live and die for the salvation of all who would believe in Him.  Jesus means "the Lord saves."  Jesus came to earth to save us because we can't save ourselves from sin and its consequences. No matter how good we are, we can't eliminate the "sinful nature" present in all of us.  Only Jesus can do that.  Jesus didn't come to help people save themselves; He came to be their Savior from the power and penalty of sin.  Thank Christ for His death on the cross for your sin, and then ask Him to take control of your life.  Your new life begins at that moment (John 3:3, Born-again experience).  Jesus would fulfill the prophecy of Isaiah, for he would be Immanuel meaning "God with us" (Isaiah 7:14).  Jesus was God in the flesh; thus God was literally among us, "with us."  Through the Holy Spirit, Christ is present today in the life of every believer."

Today,  there's an all out war in our society and all over the world against Jesus Christ.  This is not just some random acts of violence, suppression and violation of the freedom of speech.  If you look closely on the disguise, it's meant to eliminate Christ in all pillars of our society.  It's evident in our schools, our community, in public places and even in our families.  This does not happen only in America but all over the world.  It's no coincidence that every religion is tolerated and allowed in this country.  Every man-made system and beliefs were welcomed but if you talk openly about Jesus, you are bullied, mocked and robbed of opportunities in media, politics, entertainment, sports and many others.  It's no coincidence that we have leaders in this country that have dealings with terrorists and appointed notorious people in the highest seats of government whose intention is to destroy America right down to it's Godly core.  A Puppeteer uses puppets to accomplish its evil intent to this nation and it's accomplished  by stirring up problems/issues involving people's skin color, lifestyles, beliefs and choices.  These are things that people are so emotionally involved and they want to divide this nation by spreading "lies" and by eliminating "Truth."  Jesus Christ is the Truth as He is also the Way and the Life (John 14:6).  It's mind boggling when people don't see the connection especially ignorance among believers.  But then, even that is also revealed by God as a sign for the end times.  I just recently heard of a preacher that died in a plane crash named Myles Munroe.  I don't know anything about him prior to this but saw that many "believers" were saddened by his lost and as I quote some of them saying, "The world lost a great man of God."  But then, I also found several videos and one of them being 45 minutes preaching that made me both sad, shocked and angry.  You can check the video HERE.  Though it was difficult to listen, I went through the video asking the Holy Spirit's covering so as not to be guilty of taking the man out of context.  This man whom people were declaring as a "man of God" spewed greatest lies about Jesus Christ and His Gospel, the Cross, the Blood of Christ, the Born-again experience and was preaching what he calls "Kingdom message."  Don't get me wrong but I know a lot of things about the Kingdom of God (rule of God) and no one experiences that outside of the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ and His finished work on the Cross.  Yes, many has been deceived by this false teacher and I am overtaken by compassion to the people who have heard his message and are now propagating the poisonous message to others. He is now gone but the people who were deceived are still alive.  God help them!  Apostle Paul had gone to great lengths in many of his letters (epistle) to warn us about false prophets/teachings.  It is of great importance that we unmask the lies and expose the "Truth."  Matthew 24:11-13 is clear, "And many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,  but he who stands firm to the end will be saved."  What God has spoken in His Word will all come to pass and I pray that you heed the warning!  Seek God's Word and bring all teachings of any preacher to the standards of God's Truth.  It does not mean that they quote the Scripture, they are in the right track.  Even the devil uses the Scripture and twist it for his own purpose.  What makes us think that man can't do that?   Take the Only Way out of damnation---Jesus Christ!  He is our Only Hope...Here are some verses I want to share with y'all on the hope we have in Christ:

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." (John 3:16-17)

"The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them."  (John 3:35-36)

"By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds.  For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ."  (1 Corinthians 3:10-11)

For today's inspiration card, I used an image from Sassy Cheryl  (retired) that I paper-pieced and colored with my ProMarker/Prismacolor markers. The base card is white CS, cut and scored to make a 5.5 inches square card.  I rounded a couple of edges using my Corner Chomper (Memory Keepers). The DP's are from Paper Studio and American Crafts.  I also incorporated some washi tapes from Tape Works and some white nail  head gems from Imaginisce.  I stamped a few snowflakes (Recollections) using different color inks, fancy cut each one and layer them with a white brad (Recollections) to fasten them.  And lastly, I stitched all over this card.  I am thrilled that I was able to fit the Scripture Word Art for this week into the heart in the image.  T'was awesome!

Make sure you join us at WAW Challenge.  You can use the free Word Art in your creation and link it to our Challenge but is not a requirement.  As long as it's family-friendly, uplifting and inspirational, you can enter up to 5 times this week.  Lots of prizes to be won from our two wonderful sponsors---Docerela Stamps (Stamp Set) and The Cutting Cafe (3 sets of choice).  So excited to see what you come up with.  Anyway,be grounded in the Word of God so as not to be swept by any "wind of doctrine" (false teachings) that seek to devour the ignorant.  Trust fully and solely in Jesus Christ for He will carry you through this life and the next.

  1. Jo Ann I love the way you have displayed the scripture - what a beautiful card!! Yes, even here the name of our Lord is blasphemed unashamedly, yet should we give it honour, we are ridiculed. So sad.
    Blessings
