Scripture Series: Possible with God Easel Card---It's Inspirational/Anything Goes Challenge at Word Art Wednesday!

 Hello there, Crafty Peeps!  This post is very late but there's still a few days left to join  our current Word Art Wednesday (WAW) Challenge.  You can use the Scripture Word Art that you can download for free from the WAW site.  You may use it in your projects you link to our Challenge (not mandatory) or as a wonderful inspirational message for your projects.  I have featured it in my card today and it comes from Luke 18:27 which says, "And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God." 
 

This is such a profound scripture that tells us how there's still hope at the end of man's abilities.  When we have done everything humanly possible to no avail, we can trust God for the impossible!  But as a believer in Christ (Born-again, John 3:3), I'm learning to entrust God both the possible and the impossible.  That simply means that in every situation I encounter in life, I rely upon Him from the very beginning instead of my last resort.  

Our Father in heaven does not want us to walk this earthly life alone.  We are supposed to be in total dependence on Him every step of the way.  It's impossible for us to achieve anything on our own efforts for in reality, none of us have any control over our own lives.  We'd like to think so but no---God is the very breath that keeps us alive in this earthly existence.  Job 12:10 clearly tells us, "In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind."  So left alone in our fallen state (in Adam's rebellious and Sinful nature), we will never understand and appreciate the realm of the impossible where God dwells and operates. It's is accessible through "faith" alone in the finished work (death, burial and resurrection) of Jesus Christ at the Cross.

Just like the rich young ruler that asked Jesus, "What must I do to inherit eternal life?" in Luke 18:18-30, we are all aware that this life would be over.  Sooner or later, we would face eternity (no matter how many denied such existence).  Upon hearing Jesus' response, he became very sad because it would mean letting go of his wealth (which was his idol) to follow Christ.  Sad to say but we have the same reaction to this day.  Though it may be in different forms, we are all guilty of idolatry which hindered us from following Jesus.  Many times, we think that the things of God are extremely difficult to accomplish and I can say there's truth to that matter. It's truly impossible to do it on our own but if we allow God to take over our lives and use us for His divine purpose, we can walk and achieve the impossible.  For it is no longer us working but Jesus Christ in us!  

 

I would like to share My Life Application Bible's explanation about our highlighted verse today for it surely blessed me.  It says, "Peter and other disciples had paid a high price---leaving their homes and jobs---to follow Jesus.  But Jesus reminded Peter that following him has its benefits as well as its sacrifices.  Any believer who has had to give up something to follow Christ will be repaid in this life as well as in the next.  For example, if you must give up a secure job, you will find that God offers a secure relationship with Himself now and forever.  If you must give up your family's approval, you will gain the love of the family of God.  The disciples had begun to pay the price of following Jesus, and Jesus said they would be rewarded.  Don't dwell on what you have have given up; think about what you have gained and give thanks for it.  You can never outgive God."

For this Card, I used a Stamping Bella image called "Planty Dandy" that I watercolor using Distress Inks.  The base is Kraft CS, cut and score to make a 5.5 inches square easel design. The DP's are from Paper Studio, the leaves are punched by Fiskars punch and the rose is from Recollections.  I added some glitters (Stickles-Crystal) to the leaves and I ran several panels for some wonderful stitching to enhance this project.  Love the result!
