Great Baby Arrival/Shower Cards...

The weekend is here again and 2 nights ago, I was inspired to make some cards.  Didn't really know what kind of card to do until I saw this image from my collection.  I started with the baby boy card and was pleased with how it came out so, I thought, I should make one for a baby girl too...Here they are!  Hope you enjoy them as much as I did making them..  These cards are also entered into the following Challenges:

1.  Charisma Cardz featuring... Monochromatic
2.  Cute Card Thursday featuring...Touchy Feely
3.  Little Red Wagon featuring...Embossing (embossed swiss dots on the strip where the eyelets are--look at at the 6th pic below and it will show those dots)

CONGRATS BABY BOY CARD:
The card based was from My Mind's eye.  I love how it coordinated with the image which I colored using Gamsol several weeks ago...Love the blue and green combination with tons of stitching...The star and eyelets  all add to the boyish look I wanted to achieve...

CONGRATS BABY GIRL CARD:
Everything about this card was last minute but found a card base from My Mind's Eye that coordinates with the the base card I used for baby boy and this time for a baby girl.  I am happy on how the colors turned out and sure fit the girly category...

INSIDE CONGRATS BABY BOY CARD:
Simple yet perfect....

INSIDE CONGRATS BABY GIRL CARD:
Has plenty of space for a special message...I love it!

Friendship Inspired Card...I love it!

I haven't made a card dedicated specifically on friendship but as soon as I saw this image from Dustin Pike Digital stamps, I know I had to make something extraordinary with it.  I took some effort to deviate from the girly colors and focus on combining neutral colors.  This card has been entered on the following challenges.

1.  Crafty Creations featuring Paper Piecing
2.  Creative Card Crew featuring Vintage
3.  Little Red Wagon featuring...Embossing

BESTFRIEND'S BEAR AND TURTLE CARD:
Coloring this image is such a fun thing to do...I used Gamsol technique and distressed inks to give it that vintage look.  I finally used the Tim Holtz distresser and love the effect it gave this project.  Did loads of stitching on this card and even stamped the polka dots on the brown cardstock.  Yes, there's certainly embossing in the background and the sentiment was a cut from one of the designer papers.  Added some eyelets, hemps and dew drops, this card came to life.  Measures 5 X 6.5 inches (A7 size).

BESTFRIEND'S BEAR AND TURTLE CARD (SIDE VIEW):
For the past several months, I heard a lot of stuff about flocking and didn't really care on trying them until this project...It was not easy for me to apply it on the bear's nose like other folks were saying.  It took a couple of tries and some retouching before I was satisfied with the result.  I think it gives a nice feel on the project but I opted to use it sparingly as a bottle of those is not very cheap...LOL

BESTFRIEND'S BEAR AND TURTLE CARD (INSIDE):
Here, I embossed the sentiment with Cuttlebug and lots inking...Perfect for that sort of rough look I wanted to achieve.

BESTFRIEND'S BEAR AND TURTLE CARD (WITH ENVELOPE):
This came out to be a thick card so, had to make a special envelope for it.  Over-all dimension of the envelope was 5.25 X 6.75 inches, 1/4-inch thick.

I hope to make more projects in the coming days but sure would be difficult to find some time now that I also have some part-time work that just started recently.  I thank God for every opportunity I get to make the projects I love and to share them with you all...To Him, I give praise!

Scalloped Inspired Birthday Card...

Oh wow, it's been a while since my last post and had been busy for the past couple of weeks.  But sure want to share this card that I made last night to give to my friend's daughter who just turned 1 a week ago.  I cut the scallop circles and squares from the Mini Monogram Cricut Cart several months ago and never really thought what I would use it for. I was glad I did as it sure came handy in making this last minute card.  I entered this card into the following challenges:

1.  Crafty Creations featuring Paper Piecing
2.  Little Red Wagon featuring Sketch
3.  Crafty Ann's featuring "Let the Sunshine In"  (my creation has bright colors)

SWEET SCALLOPS BIRTHDAY CARD:
This is probably the fastest card I ever made as the scallops were already cut a while back.  Just had to use a little imagination and make use of the resources that I have readily available...With some inking, stickles, accent borders and embossing, all went great with this project.

SWEET SCALLOPS BIRTHDAY CARD (INSIDE):
I love this sentiment stamp and the Birthday sentiment on the front of the card from Printworks Clearly Defined clear stamps. The flower image is from Sandylion.  I decided to decorate the inside just for the fun of it and I am glad I did.  The colors turned bright and happy.

SWEET SCALLOPS BIRTHDAY CARD (WITH ENVELOPE):
All went great for this card and I am very happy with the result...I cannot make it happier than it already is.  I think coloring the image in the envelope gave a nice touch.

My friend and her daughter loved it and that's all that really matters.  Let me know what you think about this project as I sure appreciate all your inputs...Hugs to all!
