Celebrate Christmas Time Easel Card...A Blessed New Year, Everyone!

Hi there, folks!  This is going to be my last post for 2012. In just a few hours, 2013 is coming our way.  So, it's the NEW YEAR! I see it as another chance to serve the Lord and further His Kingdom. I had a conversation with my son yesterday and mentioned to him that our life is just a breath away from eternity. That "one breath" separates us from a life where time matters to a life where no time is ever going to put us on hold. For those of us living, that should mean something. Being that God's holds our very life in the palm of his hands, it's an opportunity to fulfill the very purpose that God has prepared for us before the earth was even established. Through faith in what Jesus Christ has accomplished through the Cross, we are given another chance to proclaim the good message of grace and salvation to those who are lost so that they come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus as we see the end of this age coming to a close. For those who don't have Jesus as their Lord and Savior---those that don't have a personal relationship with Him---everyday of this New Year is an opportunity to know your Savior. You don't have to be educated to come to Him for it is written in 1 Corinthians 1:19 "For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent." All that is required is a repentant and a humble heart in need of a Savior. For without the acknowledgement of sin, one need not repent and without humbleness, one cannot say that "Jesus is Lord" which is very important in accepting Christ in one's life for it is written in Roman 10:9 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. If you are not sure you have prayed to accept Jesus Christ in your heart and had been born again as He told us in John 3:3, don't let the day go by without having a relationship with Him. For you never know when a day will be your last...

I want to share this Card I made just several days ago.  It's meant for Christmas but the image (from Sassy Cheryl's Digi Collection) is just so fun, he looks like he is ready for the New Year too. I colored him with my ProMarker/Prismacolor markers.  The DP's are from DCWV.  The base card is white CS cut to make a 5.5-inch easel card.  I added a sentiment that I got from a book called "The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Word" by Linda  LaTourelle and the "Celebrate" sentiment is from Studio G.  The die-cut/embossed shapes were cut using my Nestabilities dies.  After placing some dew drops and stitching all over, this card is finished!  Love the results...

Inspirational Series: Faith is the Strength Card---Join Us for Another Wonderful Challenge at Word Art Wednesday!

Good morning, everyone!  Just got done with the hustle and bustle of Christmas and I am looking forward on a time to recover from the busy days.  Had some fun with the family yesterday and as always, I am thanking the Lord Jesus for all He is.   He is a faithful God and though there were many uncertainties we encounter daily, He is the One who is constantly faithful, never changes His stand and whose words and promises can be trusted not only in this lifetime but most importantly in the life eternal.

So talking about trusting God---I want to share to you my featured DT Card for this week's Challenge at Word Art Wednesday.  It is a quote from Helen Keller talking about the importance of faith...The kind that is given to us by the Only God!  We are only capable of trusting Him because of the precious work of the Holy Spirit in every person's life.  He witnesses before us the truth of God's Word and works within the parameters of the finished work of Christ on the Cross.  We can proclaim "Jesus Christ is Lord" because we inclined to the prodding of the Spirit Who witness before us the Lordship of Jesus Christ.  So this blessed season, thank God for the grace to trust in Him regardless of what situations we are in.  But how do we develop faith?  Like any other thing in our lives, we have to practice our faith daily, it does not happen in an instant, it's a lifestyle!  God's Word says:

"Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ." (Romans 10:17)"

Therefore we need to know God's Word and speak forth His promises to any situation we encounter daily knowing that God stands by His Word and by doing so, we develop our faith, trusting God more and more...

So, do you want to join our Challenge?   You can download the free Word Art by visiting the WAW Blog.  Use it in your card/project and link it to our Challenge.  You may enter up to 5 times as long as they are different.  You are not required to use the Word Art to join as long as you link projects with uplifting message, we will be happy to see what you got.  In my Card, I used an image from Saturated Canary called "Spring time" and I colored her with ProMarker/Prismacolor/Sharpie markers.  I used a white card base measuring 5.5 inches-square.  I altered some of the colors of the Word Art to compliment my image.  I added a red ribbon, a mini crochet flower (That I made!), brad, several aqua blue gems, glitter (Stickes-Lime Green) in the center of some flowers and paper pieced  the image with pop-dots for added dimension.  Then, I stitched all over...I am certainly pleased with the result of this Card.

I Need an Eight Day Card---Join us for our Final Challenge at Jackson's Digital Expressions featuring Color! New Site is Up beginning January 6, 2013!

Merry CHRISTmas, everyone!  I can't believe I was able to make a card in time for this day.  Just can't tell you how busy the whole month of December for me was and still a lot more to do.  Well, I must say that many sleepless nights were included in order to meet deadlines.  Nevertheless, I love making cards and the part I enjoy the most is coloring the images.  It always takes me back to my younger days, but of course, with more expensive coloring markers...LOL

So, what is the meaning of Christmas?  Traditions has led us astray in many ways in watering down what the true reason for celebrating this day.  We have exchanged the true reason for the season in sensationalizing Santa, snowmen, gingerbreads and many others.  I am not saying these are bad things but it's when we capitalize on those and fail to tell our kids what's the importance of this day that can make it or break it.  That it's all about JESUS!  The birth of the Messiah and how He came to the world to save us all from eternal damnation.  That this God-Man emptied Himself of all the glory of His Kingdom and chose to put on Him the sins of the whole world to be with men.  And because of His death, burial and resurrection, all who believed in Him has a bright future ahead and will never taste eternal death.  I have learned of the many discrepancies about Jesus' birth as told by religious traditions compared to the infallible Word of God and I can be dogmatic about it but I choose to not capitalize on the discrepancies (yet, I will tell the truth to any who wish to know) but to center in to the sole purpose of the coming of our Messiah---our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!---It's the message of His great love---immeasurable, undeniable, eternal!  The scripture says it all in these verses:

"Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13)

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

"This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers." (1 John 3:16)

It's truly an amazing story of love---Jesus!  Anyway, I would like to share with you this Card I made for our final challenge at Jackson's Digital Expressions (JDE).  I've been part of their DT for nearly 4 months and enjoyed every minute of it but it's time for us to close the doors there---but wait, it opened a window of opportunity to create a new and wonderful challenge blog.  Many of JDE DT's  are going to be working there with our very first Challenge starting on January 6, 2013.  It's called 613 Avenue Create.  Please visit us and we would appreciate you following so that you'll not miss out on the fun.  Okay, back to this featured card, I used Robert Jackson's image called "A Hard Day's Work" and colored it with my ProMarker/Prismacolor and Spectrum Noir Markers.  This is a color Challenge so, I had to use gold, grey, red and white.  I believed I successfully combined those...I used a Kraft base CS measuring 5.5 inches.  The DP's are from DCWV, the lace from my stash and incorporated some dew drops.  I used an MS Punch to create that border and the great sentiment was a freebie from Create with TLC.  I can't believe how perfect that sentiment is for this image!  Inside the card, the corner punch is from Paper Shapers.  Like always, I finish up with stitching all over the card.

Scripture Series: Glory to God in the Highest Scallop Card---Join Us Again for Another Challenge at Word Art Wednesday!

Good morning, wonderful Crafters out there!  I can't believe Christmas is just around the corner but I do feel the hustle and bustle of this season because I am lacking more and more sleep each day due to the many things I needed to get done at the home and family, Church and all the projects/creations due each week in the Crafting world.  Because of that, it is easy to lose sight of why we celebrate this season yet, I am reminded each time I come across the scriptures that life here on earth is but temporary and that we ought to use our time wisely to fulfill what God has purposed us to do.  During some sleepless nights, while posting projects here on my Blog, I have moments of thinking what benefit does this little blog do to the few audience I have?  Yet, the Spirit of God speaks to my heart and gives the assurance that nothing we do for God would ever be wasted.  I may not hear from all the people that are touched by the things I share but my Father in Heaven knows them all by name.  And so, I push toward the goal, no matter how hectic things become, I know that His help is always there.

So, what is the meaning of this season?  In my yesterday's post, I shared that the date we were made to believe as the birth of Christ is not truly the date He was born.  I can be dogmatic about it but instead,  I choose to take advantage of the season where people can at least focus on the fact that a Messiah was born, the Only One that can restore what man lost in the Garden of Eden and save people from eternal damnation.  So, who is JESUS?  Why is His name greater than any other name?  Let's see...He is the "promised seed" that crushed the head of Satan (Genesis 3:15).  He does not come from the line of Adam (sinner) as He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin. In the very beginning, He was spoken of as the Word that was with God and was God.  (John 1:1).  And that Word became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14).  He is God incarnate---God that took on flesh.  Why?  Because no man with the sin of Adam (all of us came from Adam) is ever going to save humanity from eternal separation from God.  God has to come down to man and pay for the penalty of death for the treason which the first man has plunged us all into by siding with Satan.  Jesus paid the price once and for all---a perfect sacrifice, possible only by who He is---100% Man and 100% God.  Every false religion/belief here on earth seeks to attack the Divinity of Christ.  Why so?  By saying He's only man, Jesus would be tainted by the original sin and thus, will not qualify as our Redeemer.  Here are a few scriptures that would prove Jesus is God and He and the Father are One in both the Old and New Testament.

"I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I am!" (John 8:58)

"Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is His name?’ Then what shall I tell them?”
God said to Moses, “I am who I am." This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’" (Exodus 3:13-14)

“You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am He. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no Savior. (Isaiah 43:10-11)

"She will give birth to a son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save his people from their sins." (Matthew 1:21)

Oh, I love it when scriptures prove scriptures.  This is the test?  If you are in a religion or belief system that discounts Jesus as God, it's time to do some digging.  Your eternal life is at stake in what you chose to believe this day.  If you stumble upon the Truth, don't let go of it.  As long as you are breathing, you can come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Please let me help you if you have any questions.

In honor of Jesus' birth, I would like to share with you this Card that I made for today's Challenge at Word Art Wednesday (WAW).  It highlights the free Word Art we are giving away in Luke 2:14.  I trust that after what I shared with you about the Deity of Christ, this verse will take on a whole new meaning.  You can download it for free together with an image from Daydream Designs at WAW Blog.  Now, if you have other cards that has uplifting messages, you are very welcome to enter those as well, up to 5 creations---so many chances to win.  Our sponsor for this week is Daydream Designs who will be giving away a $20 certificate to spend at her store as a prize for our Challenge winner.  Diane Noble (owner of Daydream Designs) has allowed us to highlight some of her wonderful images in this week's projects.  These cute family of owls came with a set of many owl digis called "Owl Always Love You" and are super affordable.  I can't resist featuring them in my non-traditional Christmas Card.  I colored them with my Promarker/Prismacolor /Spectrum Noir Markers and added some Diamond (Stickles) glitter on their wings.  I placed different sizes of googly eyes on them and they look even more adorable creating different expressions.  My base card is a scallop cut at 5.5 inches using my Cricut Wildcard Cartridge, DP's are from Paper Studio, white gems from Imaginisce and I used some pretty thick pop-dots for added dimension.  I paper-pieced a couple of the owls at each end to show more depth.  Lastly, I stitched all over.  I would love to hear any comments you have on this Card.

Christmas Series: Merry CHRISTmas-Peace Hope and Light Easel Card

Hi, Everybody!  Christmas is around the corner and it's getting harder and harder to find the time to work on projects due to the many activities that this season entails.  Yet one thing is certain.  I look at this season, remembering that one blessed day, a Messiah came into the earth for the sole purpose of saving mankind from sure death---spiritual, physical and eternal in nature!  I know about the discrepancy in the dates in which Jesus was born and if I'd be dogmatic about it, I would say that I should not be participating in any traditional celebration of what people call Christmas.  But somewhere in how "CHRISTmas" is spelled lies the reason for that celebration...It is my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that is to be lifted up and on the date (December 25th) most thought He was born, most of the world acknowledge that a Messiah was sent to the earth by a loving God to bring us all back to God's glorious presence.  So, I am not going to stop people from glorifying the name  of Jesus on this blessed season.  We all should take advantage that we can share the wonderful meaning of the birth of Christ to those who would be willing enough to listen and be the "salt and light of this world" at this time and age.  I sure would like to tell people that the world is going to get better but that will be contrary to what the scriptures prophesied.  The death of many children and teachers at Sandyhook Elementary School on December 14, 2012, in the hands of a disturbed/derailed gun man is proof enough of what the future can expect as we allow Godless people to dictate the course of this nation.  We have thrown away man's accountability to God by removing Him from our schools, our gatherings, our government, our lives and allowed men to rely on their own, limited thinking.  God sent Jesus out of His love for the world (John 3:16) and He is the Only One who can bridge the gap between us and the Father (John 14:6).  God has proven how much He loved us and anyone who places their faith in Jesus Christ will be saved.  Yet the "time for grace" is closing and those who missed that time will be dealt with severely.  The next time Jesus comes, He will come as a Judge and no one will escape the punishment that awaits those who didn't believe.  As one who has been saved by the grace of Jesus Christ, I can only share what God has done in my life and hope that by sharing God's love, those that are living in darkness will see the light.  It all began in the birth of the Messiah, the reason why I live with hope and a bright future even in the time and world of chaos.

I would like to share this card I made for this season.  This is just the second Christmas card I made this year.  I used a cute image from Sassy Cheryl's Digi Collection which I colored with my ProMarker/Prismacolor/Spectrum Noir markers.  I used some Diamond Stickles (glitter) for the snow and adhered some dark pink dew drops for added dimension.   DP's are from DCWV and CS' are aqua green, grey and white.  My base card measures 5.5 inches square.  I also used Nestabilities Classic Scallop  Circles (largest) and die cut  circle to go on top of that with my MS Circle Cutter at 3.5 inches diameter.  I attached a grey satin ribbon, computer generated the sentiment and sttiched all over.  It came out great.  I would appreciate your thoughts on this project.  This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

Scripture Series: My God Shall Supply Stair Step Card---It's a Brand New Challenge at Word Art Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday morning, everyone!  I hope you are warm where you are because my fingers are frozen from a chilly/freezing night here in Texas.  I keep on hitting the wrong keys of my keyboard cause my hands are super cold...LOL  But  you know what? Inside my heart, there is warmth.  That's because the Spirit of God lives inside of me which gives me the desire to lift up His name, irregardless of the weather, my circumstances and even  my own will at times.  Many times, I have to attack the negativity that comes to mind by using the best weapon God has placed inside me...the Word of God (The Bible)!  It is the written revelation of the One, True, Magnificent and Powerful GOD.  It contains 66 Books and written with many years apart, with different writers yet, despite the various hands that penned it, the message is solely about a  "Savior that comes to save His people from the hands of the wicked one---and will rule over all for life eternity." Why is the message of the Gospel clear despite the many writers and years in between each book?  It's because, the Bible has only One Source, One Author---God Himself!  Through the Holy Spirit, He used these mighty men of God to write what God revealed to them.  Among them were laws, instructions as well as prophecies---those that already came to pass and those of the future---it simply describes an infinite God who is the Beginning and the End (Alpha and Omega), Omnipotent and Omnipresent.  Without man, He will still be God but a man without God is nothing!  If you have not seen the Scriptures this way---open it's pages and like me, you'll be amazed at what you'll discover.  Oh the vastness of the knowledge of God...Purely awesome!  Just want to share with you these verses from the Bible:

2 Timothy 3:16-17:
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Hebrews 4:12-13:
"For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account."

So, speaking of God's Word, we have a new Word Art at Word Art Wednesday (WAW) that you can download for free.  It's one of the first ones that spoke to my heart when I became a follower of Jesus Christ---It's in Philippians 4:19.  For your inspiration, I have created a card featuring the Word Art, an image from Bugaboo Digi Stamps that I colored with my Prismacolor/Pro Marker/Spectrum Noir markers and a flower image from Inkadinkado that I colored with Copics.  I used 4 different CS and created a base card that measures 5.5-inches square, die-cut some shapes with my Cricut Elegant Edges cartridge, added some glitters (Stickles), gems and lastly I stitched all over.  I love the Stair Step Card!  It always gives more than just a regular card.  So, how about joining us for our Challenge at WAW Blog?  Create a  project with our Word Art and link it to to our blog.  For more chances to win, link up to 5 projects  with an uplifting sentiment.  Can't wait to see what you have in store for us. This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

1.    Crafty Creations---Wise Words
2.    Great Impressions---Anything Goes (1/3)
3.    Make It Monday---Anything Goes
4.    Pile It On---Pile on Embellishments

You know, when I am confronted by many trials---emotional, financial, etc---I speak of  Philippians 4:19 over my situation for I know that God's Word will never return void.  Though situations seem hopeless, I declare prosperity in time of need, health in time of sickness, rain in times of drought, peace in times of chaos.  I have a God who has authority over all and has proven His great love for me by His death on the Cross.  Truly, nothing is impossible with Him. True wealth can be found in God's Word.  Have a blessed day!

Hi there!  It's another Wednesday morn and so glad to bring you another great Challenge at Word Art Wednesday (WAW).  I woke up yesterday morning thinking how can I highlight today's free Word Art?  Having so much in my plate for the past few weeks including this week, I need to make something that I can be proud of yet does not take as much time as my usual cards  (Most take 5 or more hours for me to make).  So, I asked the Lord Jesus to bless my day and allow me to create something for Him.  That He guides my mind, heart and hands to create something that will praise His Holy Name.  And ideas started to flow.  A lot of times, He does not show me the complete picture but as I trust in Him, He supplies the necessary ideas as I gather my materials.  At the end of each project, I marvel at what the Lord has created through me.  He is awesome and making the decision to receive Jesus in my life is the best and most important decision I have ever made both in this life and the eternal.   I often wondered what will God assign me to do in the reign of His Kingdom?  I cannot help but think that I would probably be making crafty stuff because I know that God will not waste any talent He has given us.  Whatever it may be, I know that His plans  for me are wonderful.  The scriptures says in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."  So in my everyday walk,  I talk to Him and fellowship with Him , whether I am working or resting.  That is the difference between having a relationship with my Savior and having a religion.  I can talk to Jesus because He already made me worthy to speak to Him. With religion, people do the best of their ability to reach God.   You see,  I only boast of what He has done for me. What I am and where I am right now is all His work, absolutely nothing of my own deeds merits the favor of God.  (Ephesians 2:8-9).  Because of this reality, it is my delight to praise His Name forever.

Now, I want to share the card I made featuring this week's free Word Art (Deuteronomy 16:17).  You can download it at WAW Blog, use it in your projects and link it to our Challenge.  Now, if you have other projects that have uplifting message, you are also welcome to join.  So, this is pretty much an "Anything Goes" Challenge.  We have 2  sponsors this week, Paper Pretties and Really Reasonable Ribbon so, that means there will be two winners.  I created a Gatefold Card measuring 5.5 inches square using a Kraft CS base and the Polka dot DP is from Paper Studio Everyday Kraft papers. I stamped and used embossing powder on the flowers from Inkadinkado.  I used an MS Punch and Stamp to die-cut and decorate the  butterflies and used Memento and Colorbox to produce different colors.  I also adhered some gems from Hotfix.  I printed the free Word Art,  and matted it with black CS like all the other panels I have in here.  And to complete this design, I stitched all over.  I am happy that it came out good.  What do you all think?  This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

The featured verse on this Card is all about giving---not just talking about finances but giving to the Lord everything. The Lord does not look on the amount but looks at the attitude of our heart.  Are we willing to trust Him with our lives, our dreams, our aspirations and our talents that we give it to Him.  This is truly all about the giving of oneself.  The Bible says in Hebrews 11:6,  "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him."  Let us serve the Lord in every aspect of our lives by fully entrusting to Him all our talents and resources. We can never out-give Him!

Scripture Series: Unto Us a child Is Born Easel Card--It's Time for an IAS Challenge at Jackson's Digital Expressions...

Good morning, fellas! It's been a gloomy day here and I am facing my window looking for some inspiration while I post this.  It's easy to find those when the skies are perfectly blue and bright but I remember that I am not limited by what I can see with my physical eyes.  It may be hard to go beyond what your 5 senses tell you but I know that I have the Spirit of God in me, I can go beyond the physical realm and see the beauty that lies in the Spirit.  I am grateful that my God change not and that He is not affected by how gloomy my day is or how bright it can be.  The Bible declares in Malachi 3:6, ""For I am the Lord, I do not change."  Furthermore, Hebrews 13:8 says, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."  What a comfort it is to know that God does not change whatever the affairs of man has become.  He is faithfully true to His Word through the ages and the same will last eternally.  The scripture says in Matthew 24:35,  " Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away."  So today, in a pretty gloomy day, I choose to see the bright side of things not in the physical but in the realm of the spirit.  I choose to look into God's perspective instead of focusing on my own.  There's so much things to learn from what Jesus Christ has shown us in His earthly life regarding God's wonderful plan for us if only we would look beyond what we cannot see.  I thank God for sending His Only Begotten Son to show me how to live this life  through His Sacrifice on the Cross.  I have all the inspiration I can get just solely based on that.

So, I made a card to inspire you to join us at the Inks and Such (IAS) Challenge at Jackson's Digital Expressions (JDE).  The image is from Digi Darla Design that I colored with my ProMarker/Prismacolor Markers and inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink, Walnut Stain.  This is the very first Christmas card I made this year.  I want to use some traditional colors and by using DCWV papers, it helped me achieve just that.  I used a 5.5 base Kraft CS, a burgundy ribbon from my stash, several white gems from Imaginisce and a verse from the Bible (Isaiah 9:6) which I computer generated.  The sentiment in the inside of the card is from Studio G stamps.  I stitched all over this Card to complete this card.  The Challenge is pretty laid back and you can join us with any project, with any coloring medium.  There's great prizes to be given away at the end of the week so, head on over to the JDE Blog to link your projects. This Card is entered into the following Challenges:

1.    Cards  Galore---Christmas

Although the birth of Jesus didn't happen on the 25th of December literally, I know that my Savior was born for the purpose of saving mankind so I choose to look beyond the physical date, instead remember that day when a radiant God, emptied Himself to become flesh to dwell among us and save us.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JESUS!
