Happy Wednesday everyone! Here I am again to bring you the project I made for our Inspirational/Anything Goes Challenge at Word Art Wednesday (WAW) which will last for two weeks as we take a one week break for Christmas. The good thing about this is that you will have more time to link up your projects (up to 5) with more chances of winning one of our three fabulous prizes. Today, we feature a Scripture Word Art that you can download for free at our WAW site. It's taken from Philippians 1:6 which tells us, "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." When God created us, He equipped us with talents and abilities that is unique to each individual for the purpose of giving Him glory. As His precious creation, He gave us the capacity to think and love. We were walking in perfect harmony with Him and all was well with us till mankind decided to disobey and became slaves to Satan. From then on, our minds and hearts were filled with pride, rebellion and selfishness to the very God who brought us to life. We became the enemies of God and was destined to suffer God's wrath forever. Yet, God's plan can never be thwarted. Before even the foundations of the earth were laid, the blue print of Man's salvation has already been arranged. God's omniscience (all-knowing) can see through the end from the beginning. He saw an eternal Kingdom filled with people from many nations with different colors and backgrounds who were saved by His grace through faith. He saw past our rebellion, pride and wickedness to send His One and Only Son---Jesus Christ, to save everyone and anyone who would take His gift of salvation. From the moment we accepted Jesus Christ and made Him the Lord and Savior of our lives, we became His dwelling place! The Holy Spirit abides in us and He begins the good work inside of us. We must understand that on our own, it would be impossible for us to do good. Without the new birth (Born-Again, John 3:3), we were slaves to sin and Satan and would remain under curse just by virtue of our connection with Adam (the old self). There's nothing any man can do to rid himself of the sin nature---Nothing! It was necessary for us to die from the old self and to be Born-Again (born from above) to start all over. As we begin a new day with Christ, we dedicate our lives to Him to be used for His glory. Galatians 2:20 declares the life of a person who has come to the saving knowledge of Christ. It clearly states, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives
in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of
God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
So, how do we live by faith in God? We must believe, trust, rely, depend, cling and place our hope solely in the finished work of Jesus Christ! To know (without doubt) that we are one with Him in His death, burial and resurrection. That the victory Christ has won at the cross was applied to our sins and that we are now free from all bondage of sin (sin-nature) and of Satan. Therefore, we can truly do the work (divine work) that God has mandated us to do for we are no longer tainted by Adam's sin. Since we have given Christ complete control of our lives, we now live and move according to His purpose. Each day, He eliminates the branches that don't bear fruit from our lives and allows new branches to flourish. God's heart is love---full of grace and compassion. His love is not selfish---it is SELFLESS! It does not seek to bring glory to oneself but to give glory to the Father. Each one of us are on different levels of God's working in our lives. Not one of us has gotten it altogether---yet we are in the WORKS! One day, we will see Jesus face to face and we will completely be transformed into His image and likeness. Until then, we follow the road He has set for us remembering that we were once without hope till the Lord came and by His grace, our eyes were opened! From the time we accepted Jesus into our lives, He started a wonderful work in us and we are to completely trust in His faithfulness to carry it through to completion as we fully yield to Him. I want to share the following verses to remind us of how to live for Christ each day after our new birth:
DEAD TO SIN, ALIVE IN CHRIST
"What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?
By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?
Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection.
For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin--
because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.
For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.
The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.
Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness,
but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from
death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments
of righteousness.
For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace." (Romans 6:1-14)
For this Card, I used an image from Mo Manning called "Fifi" and colored it with my ProMarker/Prismacolor markers. The base is a white CS, cut and scored to make a 5 x 6.5 inches card. The DP came from my scraps and I incorporated a couple of Washi tapes from Tape Works. I added some liquid pearls (White Opal), glitters (Stickles-Crystal) and finally stitching to complete this design. In this very busy season, I just needed to make a simple yet fun card and felt that I achieved that with this creation.
